The Sea Hotel

We celebrated our wedding reception here in May 2024 and stayed the night before and the evening of our wedding in the bridal suite. The suite is very large and was a great space for me, my Mam and Sister to get ready in. It has two dressing tables, full length mirrors, a bath tub and separate bathroom with a walk-in shower, a comfortable bed, chaise longue and plenty of storage space in the wardrobe, chest of drawers and two side tables. The room was very warm though and we had two fans going and all of 8 windows open for the entirety of our stay. The breakfast selection is amazing. I'm a vegetarian and had a few different options to choose from. I had avocado and tomato on toast on the first morning and the Vegetarian English breakfast the next. Vikki the Events Manager is lovely and was very quick to reply to my many emails and requests. Although they have recommended event decorators, we chose to buy centrepieces and decorate the function room ourselves and were able to do so the day before our wedding and tidy up the day after without any trouble. The hotel has a licence to perform ceremonies also but we wanted to get married in the Town Hall just a mile away. The hotel is a great location for photographs and we got some great pictures on the beach, sand dunes and in the Marine Park across the road from the hotel. The function room is ideal for smaller more intimate weddings. We had a total of 45 guests over 6 tables of 7-8 people and space for a dance floor which felt about the right size. The room is nicely decorated in grey and white with beautiful silver chandeliers and mirrors and has its own bar. The chairs are in good condition and we didn't feel covers were necessary. The staff were amazing and served the meals really quickly. Credit to the chefs as our meals tasted incredible and all of our guests commented on how good the food was. The in-house DJ seemed to have some difficulty using his equipment during the first dance and father-daughter dance which made things a bit awkward having to restart the song and adjusting the volume throughout but we laughed it off and didn't let it ruin the evening. I had sent across my own playlist so maybe that had something to do with it. Overall we had a fantastic day. Thanks to all the staff for their hard work and a wonderful stay.

The location is spot on. Right near the sea front and pleasure park. 20 minute walk to the metro with links to Newcastle, Sunderland and other parts of Tyneside. Nice rooms with modern furnishings. Comfortable and clean. Friendly staff. Free parking with car registration on check in. Really good value for the price.

Staff were fantastic couldn't do enough for us very friendly and helpful. Rooms very clean and newly decorated. Breakfast had a great choice from cereal, toast, hot food, and a lot more. Very central fab location.

Lovely hotel. Great location close to the beach and amenities. Can see this suiting a family as well as a couple. Nice spacious room. Had what we needed for the night. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We had a great stay. We didn’t know what to expect. The staff were so friendly, professional, responsive and relaxed. The staff make such a difference to a hotel stay and these guys were a game changer for us, and truly make the difference between an average review or outstanding! The hotel was better than we expected for our needs and our budget, and the location was great with a wonderful beach stroll and a park on the doorstep.

We went to visit friends and stayed in this hotel and must say the staff are absolutely lovely. Beds were comfortable and we had a nice room and bathroom .You are right on the sea front. All in all a nice place to stay.

Honestly couldn’t have asked for more from the staff, they were so accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was also really nice, such good value for what we paid for a family of four! Hugely impressed with our room, clean, tidy and spacious.

We had our wedding here and it was the most amazing day! the staff couldn't do more for us. such a beautiful venue.

Stayed last night as part of the bridal party. Rooms spotless, lovely view and loved the matching furniture etc. The staff went absolutely above and beyond for us all last night and this morning. Thank you all so much for being so accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was absolutely beautiful.

Attended yesterday for a wedding. This hotel is very clean and attractive. Kristen was in charge of the wedding from the hotel. She and her staff worked very hard to ensure the wedding reception went extremely well. The room was utterly amazing. The food was delicious well served. I would definitely recommend this venue for a wedding. Great place near the beach plenty of parking
