We'd like to thank Blackfriars for giving us the best wedding we could have asked for. The planning process was so easy and Laura was so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were amazing throughout. On the wedding day everything went so smoothly, the food was incredible and the service was second to none - which was also noted by many of our guests. A special thanks to Rachel for keeping us calm and taking care of us every step of the day, you were brilliant. We couldn't recommend Blackfriars enough!

I booked Blackfriars for my wedding for July 2024, and every step they were amazing!! They were in constant communication, and no request was too small or too large for them. We booked the Bridal Suite for the day, and Hayley, (the wedding coordinator for the first half of the day) was there at 9am with pastries and fancy coffee. She made everything so smooth, and stress free!! My wedding wouldn't have felt the same without her During the ceremony, Blackfriars had all my music playing and the venue looked so beautiful and intimate. It was the perfect atmosphere for me During the day, they made me and my husband feel like we're the single most important people in the room (what is very rare for us)!! The food was to die for, and they were incredible when it came to my family numerous allergies and intolerance (my grandmother even had a full tray of canapés to herself to make sure there was no cross contamination) There was always plenty of staff at the bar and to help cater to everyone. I couldn't have asked for a more remarkable place for my wedding!!

We had our wedding ceremony and daytime at Blackfriars this summer and I’d absolutely recommend them to anyone. Throughout the whole process Laura has been excellent, super organised and helpful whenever we had questions or anything like that. She really took a lot of stress off our plate and knowing she was only ever a quick email or phone call away was great. On the day itself the master of ceremony, Daniel, was a delight. Our day didn’t exactly go to plan, we ended up starting way later and the times getting thrown off thanks to the taxi leaving without the bride and a replacement never being sent leading to a march through Newcastle, but they handled this well and happily shuffled everything without complaint. On their part, the day was run so smoothly, food was all brought out in good time (which was delicious and we’ve had so many positive comments about the meal since, especially the vegan option), people’s wine glasses were always getting topped up (particularly the bride and groom’s by Dan), and bar service was fast. Other members of staff quietly handled little issues that came up, for example, Hayley helped one guest who’d misplaced the grooms cufflinks find them quietly. The office staff were also great, another guest commented how helpful Lauren was when they were trying to sort something. Basically, the whole venue was professional and treated us very well. If you have visited the venue at all you know how nice it is already, but the photographs we have look amazing and that’s in no small part due to the venue looking as great as it does! We didn’t have our evening at Blackfriars as we needed somewhere with a lot more capacity and the contrast between the two venues cannot be understated. The professionalism and ease of service at Blackfriars was in a different league and it became even clearer how well versed these staff are at putting on an amazing wedding. The two of us had also been here for other things, including whisky tasting, wine tasting, wreath making and some meals; how much we enjoyed those events led us to picking it as our wedding venue. I’m more than happy to recommend Blackfriars no matter if it’s for a wedding or something smaller, we’ve always had a great time there.

Well, what can I say, such a fabulous experience from beginning to end - everything was five star. Laura has such a “can do” attitude, along with a very amenable chef. Daniel, Tom and his colleagues were brilliant on the day and looked after us superbly. Cannot recommend Black Friars highly enough - what a brilliant venue. Thank you

From the moment I met Laura, the wedding planner, I felt confident that we were putting our day into the hands of true a professional. The planning was made simple for me and no detail was missed. The email communication was excellent. On the day- I had a lovely morning in the dressing suite. Hayley made sure that we had refreshments and was very friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. The wedding itself- Daniel and Daniel ran the day. They were amazing- they knew every detail of what we had planned down to the exact timing of music. I didn’t have to think about anything except enjoying the day. The wedding breakfast- all of the food was excellent as was the service. From canapés onwards. Delicious! Glasses were refilled without delay! The whole day went like clockwork- we wanted a projection screen to play a video- this was provided for us without any problems. The evening food was perfect too and the bar staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Organising and having a wedding is pretty stressful- had I known how easy and relaxed everyone at Blackfriars would make the day I would have been far less stressed during the run up to the wedding. I can’t praise Blackfriars enough - the pre wedding organisation, the beautiful venue, the staff, the food and drink. It was all perfect and unforgettable. Thank you

We couldn't have been more delighted with our choice of wedding venue! From the moment we first visited, we knew it was the perfect place to celebrate our special day. The venue is stunning and with beautiful. Elegant interiors, that provided a magical backdrop for our wedding. Every detail, from the charming ceremony space to the exquisite reception area, was meticulously maintained and aesthetically pleasing. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our day was flawless. Their professionalism, warmth, and attentiveness made the entire planning process smooth and stress-free. They were incredibly accommodating, working closely with us to tailor the event to our vision and needs. The catering was exceptional, with a diverse and local menu that delighted all our guests, and the service was impeccable. On the day itself, everything ran like clockwork. The team coordinated seamlessly with our other vendors, ensuring that we could relax and fully enjoy every moment. Our guests were equally impressed, frequently commenting on the beauty of the venue and the exceptional hospitality. Overall, our wedding day was everything we dreamed of and more, largely thanks to this outstanding venue and its dedicated staff. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a perfect wedding location!

We got married at Blackfriars in August 2024 and it was the most wonderful experience from start to finish. From our initial discussions with Laura, to the organisation and preparation, culminating in the big day itself. The venue is terrific and provides an amazing backdrop to capture every part of the day. The staff couldn’t have done more for us. There genuinely wasn’t one tiny thing that was missed or we had to request. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to have the most memorable of days.

We held our wedding here on 1 June and what a fabulous event! We opted for Blackfriars as it’s our favourite eatery and the building is exquisite. Laura and Dan done a fabulous job planning and organising the day, the canapés, wedding breakfast, drinks were outstanding and the overall customer service was exceptional. Our pet dogs were ring bearers and they thoroughly enjoyed their tailored pooch wedding meals too! The whole day was amazing, all the guests loved the venue so much that they all want to get married again at this venue. What a fabulous place in a central location, the day could not have been any better!

We had our special day Saturday 30/12/23 it was magical nothing was to much bother for wedding staff they were all amazing and friendly especially Laura & Dan Just wish we could do it all over again ❤️
