The centre has recently been taken over by the Tyne & Wear Building Preservation Trust who are excited to welcome back weddings & events to this prestigious building. Because of its central location it has excellent transport links, with many hotels & other accommodation nearby for your guests however because of its private walled aspect you can enjoy a city centre location without the hustle & bustle of the city. St Mary’s can seat up to 160 guests & offers you the opportunity to create your own unique bespoke wedding, using our list of trusted talented wedding professionals or your own suppliers along with our in-house bar supplier. You will have exclusive hire from Friday until Sunday to allow you time to set up St Mary’s exactly how you want it & create your perfect day. We can also offer shorter hire periods & mid-week hire on request.

Absolutely amazing service

We had our wedding last June at Newcastle Castle and our wedding at St Mary's Heritage Centre. Nickynoo also provided our bar. We couldn't recommend all 3 enough- absolutely amazing service provided by all that will leave us with lovely memories forever.

What is St Mary's Heritage Centre most unique feature?

Recently taken over by the Tyne & Wear Buildings Preservation Trust theres been a hive of activity restoring many of the original features to make this venue even more beautiful. I think the reopening of the original Church entrance and the addition of the stunning purpose built wooden door will be amazing.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

The amazing history of the venue, it dates back to 1300 & has seen many alterations over the years, St Mary's has survived two fires & still stands proud as an iconic landmark on the banks of the River Tyne.
