Full Description
A secluded setting within 5 acres of beautiful gardens, including a walled garden with 17th century summerhouse, surrounded by 180 acres of private estate parkland and woodland, and with uninterrupted views of the Malvern Hills. We offer couples exclusive use of all our main reception rooms, accommodation and gardens for the days surrounding their wedding, and encourage them to use Homme as theirs. Couples are welcome to start setting up from 9.30am the day before their wedding and checkout is not until 12.30pm on the day after their wedding so the weekend celebrations are relaxed. Homme is licensed for both indoor and outdoor civil ceremonies and for church weddings St. Bartholomew’s lies on the edge of the Estate at the end of the parkland drive. We can accommodate up to 80 for a wedding breakfast in the house or up to 120 in a lawn marquee, with a maximum of 120 guests at the evening celebrations. We are happy to provide recommendations on potential suppliers but do not prescribe exclusive partners. We do not charge suppliers commission. Couples are welcome to provide their own drinks for the entire wedding and we do not charge any corkage. We hope couples will enjoy the flexibility Homme offers in allowing them to plan the wedding day they have always dreamed of.

Personal Message from the Manager

Name of Wedding Contact: Charlie
The Homme House family tree stretches back to the 16th century and the estate is still lived in and run by our family. We hope that Homme has the warm feel of a family home rather than that of a commercial wedding venue. We have been a wedding venue since 2004 and we were married here ourselves in 2009 so have experienced weddings from both sides! From your first viewing, through the planning process and on the wedding day itself, we are always here to ensure all your plans go smoothly.

Choosing Homme is a decision you will never regret 💗
It's taken me a month to write this review, because I simply don't know where to begin with just how happy we were to have our wedding (and the whole planning experience) with Homme. I say WITH Homme, not at, because we truly feel like a small part of the Homme family after sharing our special day here. I want to start by saying that many venues we visited had a really commercial feel, we often felt like weddings were treated with a conveyer belt system. This was NEVER felt in capacity with Homme. Everything felt personalised to us as a couple, from the very first communication. From the moment we arrived at Homme, we've been made to feel so welcome and at home. Nothing has ever been too much trouble and we have always felt comfortable contacting Charlie and Sarah with questions and requests for advice and guidance. The regular updates on all things wedding and venue related have been so welcome and only helped to build in the excitement through our longer-than-expected build up to the day itself. Like many couples, we were finally wed after two years of postponements, but each and every contact with Charlie felt as special and exciting as the first (when some vendors could make us feel like a bit of a burden for the date changes). Well, we can certainly say it was worth the wait! We genuinely had the most perfect day we could have ever imagined. Not just for us, but for all of our guests as well. Even our evening guests were saying it was the best wedding they've ever been to, and we're under no illusions that it has anything to do with us as a couple! The ability/option to come and go as they please, taking advantage of each element of the gardens and grounds was a real treat and made people feel simultaneously settled and excited. Matt and I thought it great that any legal boundaries and limitations have been made clear from the get-go, as we feel this is something other venues hold back until later in the booking process. It was expressed to me by Charlie and Sarah that they didn't want me to even look at a clock on the day. I'm a frantic planner and panicker but the amount of organisation, attention to detail, and eagerness to help keep us relaxed honestly meant that I didn't (and didn't feel the need to) check the time at ANY point in the day, not even the morning prep. My photographer also commented on how impressed she was with how organised and in-the-know they were. In fact, each of the vendors all passed similarly wonderful comments about Homme and the team-of-two at earlier stages of booking. Everyone is always so excited to cover a wedding at Homme! Sarah's warm and friendly visits in the morning were immensely calming for me and made me feel like everything was under control. I stood in the library, ready to start the ceremony completely cool, calm, and collected... It was only once I stepped foot in the panelled room that it all went to toffee! And, may I add, floating down that sweeping staircase, ready to marry the love of my life, is a feeling I will never forget. As a family, we all LOVED the wording on the website about a little bit of love from each wedding rubbing off on the place. If that is the case, and we believe it so, then it must be overflowing at present 💗 The option of being at the venue for the day before the wedding was simply the best! A relaxed day with a small gathering of friends and family, as well as the chance to set a few things up prior to the 'morning-of madness' was an absolute joy. It really took the pressure off us for the big day, provided some really beautiful memories, and is something we couldn't imagine the celebrations without. Over the two days, showing people around the gardens was definitely a highlight for us (actually, many many highlights, we really got our steps in!) and a few people asked us how we knew so many little bits of information. Neither of us had realised that we did really, I guess we just retained every titbit of information shared with us throughout our previous visits, out of pure love for the place. I have sent the link for the history section of the website around to so many guests as they were all so intrigued to know more, and disappointed when we admitted we couldn't remember many details! The house itself, while grand and beautiful, is so homely and welcoming - no red ropes here - many guests commented on this also. We took full advantage of the walled garden by having cocktail hour by the summer house. We're so happy we did this, it really allowed everyone to feel immersed in such a beautiful place, and I think every guest enjoyed a little visit up in the summer house which was a really fun touch! The bridal suite... Well, you'll see for yourselves, but we felt every touch of luxury (again, homely and welcoming luxury, nothing ostentatious) and could have stayed forever. The views over the gardens are unbeatable in our opinion. We actually decided to arrive a day early at Homme (arrived on the Sunday for our Tuesday wedding) and spent the first night together in the summer house and I would highly recommend this,it was so special and we had a wonderful picnic breakfast in the gardens before our 'day before,' guests arrived. We could go on forever about the amazing breakfast, the beautifully thought-out spaces to enjoy separately, the utterly stunning decor and upholstery, and all of the extra touches that made us feel so loved and special.... But we'd like to save some surprises for you ! Charlie and Sarah mastered the perfect balance between acknowledging the stressful nature of hiccups, and making them feel totally manageable. We truly feel we have been embraced so lovingly, and woukd consider them both friends for life. In summary, Homme and the team behind it provided the best possible start to our married lives, and we are forever grateful. Homme is the best wedding decision we made. Mr and Mrs Holmes xxx

The BEST decision you will make 🤍
Homme House is the first venue we visited… and the last. From the moment we drove through the front gate we knew it would be where we would be spending our special day. Working with Charlie over the course of our 3 year engagement was such a joy and took away so much of the stress you expect when planning a wedding. Nothing was ever too much, you were always made to feel like you were the only couple getting married at Homme & the responsiveness to our many queries couldn’t of been smoother. The ability to design your perfect day with Homme House at the centre of it is simply amazing. Charlie is happy for you to work with any supplier to bring your vision to life, something that so many venues don’t allow you to do. We visited Homme a large number of times (as we had to qualify to marry at St Bartholomew’s so had a number of trips to Much Marcle) and were also welcome for a check in and a cup of tea. Covid unfortunately meant we have to reschedule our original date but as expected Charlie was at hand to talk through options and could not have dealt with the situation in a more professional way. On the day, the days leading up to it and the morning after, Charlie & Sarah did everything they could to make it the most special time on our lives and that they certainly did. They never laughed at my many spreadsheets, questions (often silly) and requests (often weird). Having access to the house from the day before and until lunchtime the day after is something we couldn’t recommended more. Your wedding day will go so quickly but having the time to create additional memories the day before and morning after is something we can’t even imagine not having had. It also makes your wedding morning a much smoother time and gives you the opportunity to really be in the moment. All of our suppliers commented on how much of a joy it was to work at Homme & with Charlie & Sarah. Our photographer actually said he doesn’t think he’s ever worked with a nicer venue owner. Homme will always hold such a special place in our heart and feel like a home away from home. It is such a magical & beautiful place which we couldn’t describe any better than with the word ‘perfect’! We could not recommend Homme House anymore, choosing it for our big day was the best decision we made and one we will forever be grateful for. Thank you a million times 🤍

We could not have picked a better venue for us!!!
From first visiting Homme House right up until our big day, Sarah and Charlie have just been incredible!! They have fully supported us with every decision and guided us when we needed some direction. We went for a bespoke four-day package (Friday- Monday) and we cannot recommend this enough. We had 30 of our closest family and friends stay with us, where we were able to put on a drinks reception on the Friday, the wedding on the Saturday (with an additional 90 people) and then a garden party on the Sunday. What generally is so special about Homme, is that there are so many beautiful spaces that allow you to create an individual weekend designed for you and your guests and being able to use so many of these spaces felt incredibly special. This is made possible because the standard of the buildings, facilities, and bedrooms are just exceptional. Everything was clean and spotless and throughout the weekend our guests were made to feel at home including those with little ones. The gardens in particular are completely breath-taking and offered some beautiful photo and drone opportunities for us and our guests. Thank you to Homme House, Charlie, Sarah and all the staff for making our wedding day by far the best day of our lives. Everything at Homme exceeded our expectations and we could not recommend it highly enough!!

Beutiful Venue and a Warm Welcome
Homme House made for an abosultely incredible venue. They were flexible in working with external suppliers for a range of functions, and Charlie & Sarah who run the venue were an absolute delight to work with. They were always prompt and helpful, and really made us feel like frineds they were welcoming into their home rather than simply clients hiring a space. Not just a goregous venue with excellent accomodation facilities, but a totally unique experience.

The most perfect day
We got married at Homme house in May this year and we still can't get over how perfect the day was! Covid had an impact on our original plans and we couldn't of been happier with our change of venue and date! Charlie and Sarah's attention to detail is second to none. They are so warm and welcoming, the whole experience felt so personal from day one which is something we hadn't got from our previous venue. They really helped guide us when it came to planning our day, they have definitely got this wedding 'thing' down to a fine art and we were so grateful for their guidance and expertise! The venue's beauty speaks for itself, just beautiful. I personally was sold when I saw the summer house for the first time. The one final point to add which was a BIG bonus for us is that we could have our most important guests with us on our perfect day - our dogs :) x

10/10 venue
My wife and I got married at Homme House in December 2021 and it was perfect. We sadly were affected with covid postponements in the build up but we really can’t express how thankful we are to Charlie and Sarah at Homme House for all their support over the last 2+ years with the planning, postponing and rearranging. Nothing was too much trouble and the venue were steadfast in their support and helpful suggestions. And then for the day itself – wow! It really was perfect and worth the wait. Everyone commented on how beautiful the house was and how everyone felt so welcome. The house and grounds are just beautiful and it really felt like our home away from home for the weekend with such a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The accommodation was excellent, really comfortable and so clean and the provisions and much needed Full English on the Sunday morning were delicious. If you are looking for a country house venue that isn't a wedding factory venue, and prides itself on its personal and family touch, where you a looked after personally and with a relaxed and friendly approach, this really is the best venue. We wish we could do it all again and cannot wait for an excuse to visit Homme House again. Would highly recommend. Thank you Homme House :)

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

Every wedding is unique and special, so you might detect a hint of bias in our answer: our own! We got married at the local church and held our reception here at Homme in 2009. The best wedding ever!

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

To make sure that you enjoy it. It is such a special period, so consider listing all the planning tasks out at the outset, and order them into different months, hopefully allowing you then to relax and make the most of each element of the planning without feeling overwhelmed.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

A very talented guest of the bride and groom sketched portraits of each and every guest at their wedding for the table place names. A very generous and herculean effort.

Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.

Beautiful, Homely, Flexible, Elegant, Relaxed

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

That's a tough question - there are so many, with the best changing through the seasons, from the bluebells in the woods above the main lawn, to the glorious wisteria, borders, rose garden, parkland meadow grass, wild flower meadow in the walled garden and autumn colour on the apple espalier... the list goes on!

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

Mackenzie Crook was a guest at a wedding here. His next stop was the Caribbean for the filming of Pirates of the Caribbean.

What’s your favourite canapé?

Anything with scallops!

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

Sparklers in front of the house to complete the celebrations.

What is your venue's most unique feature?

We have a beautiful 17th century gothic Summerhouse in our walled garden, licensed for civil ceremonies and a gorgeous spot for photographs.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

Our flexibility. We feel very strongly that couples should be able to realise their vision for their wedding day, and do our best to support them with no restrictive, preferred catering arrangements, no corkage charges, a flexible approach to the guest rooms available on the Estate (all in the gift of the bride and groom, with no obligation to use them) and as much support and help in the build up to and on the day as they need.
