The Cider Barn

Simply stunning!! The Cider Barn is the most beautiful, rustic and charming venue.. its is just so naturally beautiful. From the moment we first saw this venue we fell in love and just knew this was the place for our special day. We want to say a big thankyou to Pauline the events manager... THANKYOU ❤️ you are absolutely amazing from our first meeting till the end you are so kind and made us feel so at ease and helped us create our dream wedding, so very good at what you do and a beautiful person to. Food.... wow wow wow the food was phenomenal so many compliments day and night. The food was tailored to our tastes but then they were even more amazing than we could of imagined so a huge thankyou to Sophie you and your kitchen team are wizards thankyou so much. Last but not least a massive thankyou to all the staff as they have all been totally amazing.. so very kind, attentive and worked incredibly hard to give us a truly magical and seamless wedding day. The cider barn is a perfect space for a relaxed wedding. We'd been here many times before for Sunday lunches so we knew the food would be amazing and it didn't disappoint. In the lead up we had plenty of meetings with Pauline who guided us with our choices, we were able to decorate the day before, bring our own lights, fire pit and croquet for outdoors, which helped keep everything relaxed. On the day there were no issues, the team were brilliant and everyone had a great time. I can't fault it!

From the moment we first contacted Pauline about The Cider Barn hosting our wedding, she and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to make the day perfect. Responses to questions were quick and informative, all options - regardless of price - were offered equally, and nothing seemed too much trouble. The venue is beautiful and many of our guests commented on what a special place it was. Just fantastic!

We had a humanist wedding ceremony and reception at the Cider Barn this summer, and we really couldn’t have been happier with how everything went. It’s a lovely venue, with cosy barn aesthetics inside, a sheltered terrace and an adjoining field. We held our ceremony out in the field, where we also had reception drinks and lawn games. The natural setting is lovely – we had plenty of options of locations for photography, and the setting looks incredible in the pictures. Pauline, the manager, was incredibly helpful and supportive throughout and we were very well looked after in the run up, and on the day itself. Pauline also suggested local suppliers to hire benches, a tipi and fire pits, which was a great help. The food was incredible. The Cider Barn team worked with us in advance to plan canapes, a wedding breakfast (main sea bass and prawn risotto) and sandwiches in the evening, and everything was above and beyond what we expected. We heard so many guests say how much they enjoyed the food, and the Cider Barn were great in making sure that vegan and vegetarian diets were catered for and received an equally excellent meal. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Cider Barn as a wedding venue, particularly if you’re looking to use outdoor spaces for part of the day. We had just over 50 day guests, and a few more for the evening, and there was plenty of space without us feeling too spread out – I imagine a wedding with more guests would also have plenty of space and be comfortably accommodated. We’re really looking forward to returning to the restaurant to celebrate future anniversaries!

It was the most wonderful day for us and we would not have changed a thing. The food was so delicious and beautifully presented, and your attention to details was appreciated. This was a day we will never forget. Please thank everyone personally for us it made a treasured day all the more special.
