Hosting your wedding in a fabulous country house doesn’t get much better than at Brinsop. Rules are few and far here at Brinsop – everyone knows, I like to say ‘YES!’ - because we understand each couple wants something different and we embrace those differences…and really help you achieve those special touches, offering an almost endless list of places for you to make your vows – moatside, down under the huge Cedar with the double swing, up in our London Plane woodland glade, banqueting Hall, Library, Astley Pavilion …the list goes on.. With 15 Large double bedrooms and 3 singles – not forgetting our 2 magical and idyllic cottages nearby – we can sleep 33, and up to 47with extra beds. We have function rooms that will take your breath away – truly – people have been brought to tears on seeing our candlelit Banqueting Hall ! – and each of them is so special. Your guests will be awed by this beautiful property, thoughtfully and decorated in a contemporary way with not a hint of old house crustiness! Time after time, people leave saying it was the best wedding experience they had ever had. And it’s exclusively yours for your stay…and that can be for as long as you want.. Your amazing day will go smoothly in the hands of our accomplished co-ordinators, with a senior event manager on hand - after being arranged in the preceding months with the same person who sees you through your day. We think our clients like continuity. Maybe you would like to arrive the evening before and enjoy hosting your nearest and dearest in the Queen Anne Dining Room, use the Games Room getting to know a little better some of those family members you rarely see, while the bar is open for your own convenience, or lie back and relax in front of the woodburner in our superb Parlour. Alternatively, in summer months you can get out and play croquet , badminton, cricket, football, tennis, fish in the moat or just lounge in our hot tubs while chatting to and having FUN with those you love so well

The best day of our lives
I cannot thank all the staff at Brinsop enough for all there help and support on our wedding to name a few John the fountain of all knowledge and tails and also late night chauffeur what a gentleman. Daisy and Emma Coordinators were incredible. They kept me calm they made us laugh and they were the glue that ensured it all came together. Nothing was a problem to running around the rooms with me preparing the grooms suits and bridesmaids gowns to finding some glue to pop my pearls back on my shoe, even preparing the wedding cheese cake and just being amazing. The venue speaks for its self. We fell in love with it the first day we viewed. The rain stopped at 10am the swans came down and merrily paddled around the moat. Nothing could be more perfect. I would definitely recommend the 2 day package as it really does give you time with your family and friends to unwind for the big day. Such a hassle free wedding. There is not enough thank you’s to show enough appreciation to you all at Brinsop.

The best venue!!
We had our wedding at Brinsop on 01/11/22 and we had the most amazing day! From when we first booked Brinsop to the day of our wedding the staff were truly amazing! Communication was fab and Emma (our coordinator on the day) made sure our day ran smoothly with no issues! All of our guests commented on how brilliant our day was and how amazing their rooms were at Brinsop. If we could do it all over again, there’s no where else we’d rather it be than Brinsop Court!

The best weekend of our lives
Its probably easier to copy and paste the email we sent to Daisy and the team as it says it all. Dear Daisy and the Brinsop Team We are both so sorry it's taken us so long to write this but the last 12days have been filled with a number of mixed emotions, the Cretan sunshine and a whole lot of love and gratitude for all things wedding related. Despite trying to write something we still cannot seem to find the right words, even 12 days on. Your professionalism, kindness, ability to just be there when we never knew we needed you guys and just the general Brinsop love is undeniable. We are beyond lucky we found Brinsop Court, it was a wedding like no other and everyone else completely agreed. We have known for the last 9 years we would get married but even I never imagined it would have turned out like it was on the 15th October. From the Friday arrival, the dinner, the wedding day itself, the party and the much needed recovery breakfast on the Sunday....It was beyond perfect. The setting, the pre/post care was exceptional. It was a weekend filled with love but more importantly a whole lot of fun!!! I am beyond grateful to you and the team for making that happen. I honestly have never felt or been happier. Looking back on our wedding it was everything I could have hoped for. We have had so many people say it was the best wedding they have been to and I honestly believe it was down to the help and recommendations you gave us. Please never lose Jo at Issy and Bella, Che Birch-Hayes, A to Zest, Colin Nicholls, Sasha Brown and Jenny from Hair comes the bride. They were absolutely amazing, faultless infact, and just knew Brinsop....so thank you for putting them on that list. We will continue to cherish every minute of our wedding and Brinsop will always hold a very special place for us. Thank you really doesn't seem to cut it but unfortunately that's all there is at the moment. We will speak soon, thank you again so very much and we hope to see you on our first anniversary. All our love

Couldn't have picked a better venue!
From initially going to view Brinsop court right up to our wedding day, the whole team and the whole experience was incredible! Every member of the team are incredibly supportive and knowledgeable, and were more than happy to answer any of our questions or worries very quickly. Anything we needed or wanted, we got! We went for the two day package, and I cannot recommend this enough! We had 33 of our closest family and friends stay with us the night before the wedding, where we were able to put on a little drinks reception, and then we were able to eat in the banqueting hall with food cooked by the brilliant chef at Brinsop! Jonathan and I were completely able to relax with Daisy our wedding coordinator sorting everything out behind the scenes the night before the wedding and the day of the wedding. The original plan was to have the wedding ceremony out on the Wordsworth lawn, but the weather didn't allow that on the day. However, Daisy and the team were keeping their fingers crossed that we could get married outside, and it wasn't until the last 45 mins that we all decided it needed to be inside. The team were able to get the beautiful banqueting hall ready for our ceremony within half an hour, and it looked incredible! The whole day was amazing, and I honestly cannot describe how beautiful the venue and how wonderful the team are. Thank you so much for making our day so wonderful!

Most beautiful venue ever!
We got married back in April 2022 and had the most perfect beautiful day. I do not have a bad word to say about the place or the staff at all. No question was left unanswered and nothing was too much trouble. There are so many beautiful spots for photographs you really are spoilt for choice. We would highly recommend Brinsop to any couple looking to get married here. We fell in love with the place 2 years before we actually booked it and I'm so glad we did.

FAQ

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

All of them are incredible weddings, it would be impossible to pick just one! Brinsop is such a magical place that it makes every single day here special. We love working in the surroundings of such a picturesque location, all our visitors appreciate it just the same :)

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Decide on your venue and everything else will follow... We really help you with your planning and are with you every step of the way! Our team is so knowledgeable - we are here to help!

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

Gosh, this one is so hard. We have seen so many personal touches, our couples can be so thoughtful. We have had tables named after travel destinations, Harry Potter cakes, sheep as ring bearers - you name it!

Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.

Charming. Idyllic. Magical. Unforgettable. Romantic (struggled to pick just 5)!

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

This is a question many would answer differently. There are so many spots that it's truly hard to pick a favorite. Maybe in front of the pear trees, looking across the moat towards the ancient stone bridge, in the woodlands, our exceptional bridge over our glistening moat. With Brinsop being Grade II listed in its own right, it can be captured with a backdrop of either the cricket pitch and the rolling hills of Hereford or the mixed era façade of our exceptionally unique house.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

Many! But we wouldn't dare say - ask if you come for a viewing! :)

What’s your favourite canapé?

The Yorkshire pudding canapes with local Herefordshire beef and horseradish is always a winner! Some couples pick slightly different alternatives to your typical canape, such as candy floss or popcorn - good if you are running a movie theme!

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

It has to be a charcuterie and cheese board with ALL the trimmings! Local produced cheese with a selection or breads and crackers accompanied with countless chutneys and spreads for every palate. The bonus is how beautifully it can be presented! Or a hamper full of cookies and hot chocolate - yes please!

What is your venue's most unique feature?

The venues hosts so many! A popular one is our beautiful Courtyard, complete with medieval steps - the perfect location for a sheltered outdoor ceremony or drinks reception!

What part of your business are you most proud of?

There is no one single part of my business that I am most proud of … Brinsop as you see it today is an absolute mix of fascination with the old place, joy to see the life being breathed into it and masses of plain hard slog which has resulted in this amazing place… So - I am proud of the market stall I started at weekends - while teaching during the week - which led to the 2 shops we opened - while I had 4 children - which then led onto the Mail order business we got lucky with - which led to me being able to buy Brinsop Court. I am proud of my husband and 4 fabulous daughters - who have seen so little of me for the last 12 years while I toiled at Brinsop. I am so proud of creating this incredibly special haven of English peace that people really love. I am proud of my staff – old and new – who give their very best every time to each visiting couple and group who come here. I feel incredibly proud when I realise that people I have never met before now recognise the name Brinsop…
