You booking at Great Fosters will allow exclusive access to our Tithe Barn, Orangery, Painted Hall Bar, Terrace and Magnolia Lawns. With its tall arched windows in the style of the eighteenth century, the Orangery is an elegant room with views over the Magnolia Lawn and gardens - perfect for any ceremony up to 160 guests Dating from 1390, The Tithe Barn was painstakingly dismantled from its original site in Surrey and re-built at Great Fosters in the 1930s. It provides a romantic setting for a wedding with its exposed vaulted English oak beams, open fire and Minstrels’ Gallery. This can sit wedding receptions up to 180 guests. Reception drinks are held in the adjacent Painted Hall or under our brand new stretch tent on the Terrace or Magnolia Lawns (exclusive to you and your guests), with the Painted Hall having its own bar. Following the wedding breakfast and speeches, coffee is served in the Painted Hall before the evening reception commences, either in the Tithe Barn or Orangery. Full Description
Probably built as a Royal Hunting lodge and very much a stately home since the 16th century, Great Fosters is a Grade One listed building blessed with the grandeur of 16th century England and luxurious modern facilities. The romantic gardens provide the most idyllic backdrop for photographs with a rose garden with sunken lily pond, saxon moat with wisteria covered Japanese bridge, parterres, grassed amphitheatre and a lake. The hotel has 50 luxurious bedrooms and is licensed for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies. The Tithe Barn, dating from 1390, accommodates up to 180 guests for a wedding breakfast whilst the Orangery, in the style of the eighteenth century, accommodates up to 80 guests. Food at Great Fosters is important to us whether we are catering for two or two hundred. We put the same emphasis on our wedding menus as we do for our restaurants and our talented kitchen brigade take great pride in creating dishes that not only look fabulous but also exceed your expectations on the taste front too.
