Like much of Scotland and the UK as a whole, Fife’s weather can be unpredictable. There’s an average of 38 days of snow every year in Scotland, but every season brings something special to a wedding. In fact, some areas have even been known to have snow in June. Spring (March – May) is a beautiful time of year in Fife, with flowers blooming and green spaces like Pittencrieff Park and Dunfermline Glen coming to life. Temperatures range from 8°C (46°F) in March to 14°C (57°F) in May, with occasional spring showers adding to the Scottish charm. And of course, there’s the odd bit of snow from time to time.

Summer (June – August) is the most popular time for weddings in the area, with long daylight hours and temperatures between 15°C (59°F) and 19°C (66°F). Coastal and countryside weddings are beautiful in summer, especially at fantastic outdoor venues like Pratis Barns.

Autumn (September – November) is when things start to get a little colder, making it perfect for romantic, cosy weddings at venues that are less likely to feel the chill coming in from the North Sea. Temperatures range from 14°C (57°F) in September to 8°C (46°F) in November, but the changing leaves create stunning backdrops for photos in any one of the region’s parks or gardens.

Winter (December – February) is perfect for intimate and atmospheric weddings, especially in historic venues with roaring fires and beautifully lit receptions. With temperatures between 1°C (34°F) and 6°C (43°F), winter weddings in Fife are fabulous, especially when there’s a dusting of snow. Transport & Accommodation in Fife

Fife is fairly easy to get to from across Scotland and the rest of the UK, making it accessible for guests to travel to and across the region.

Fife doesn’t have its own airport, but Edinburgh Airport (EDI) is just a short drive away, offering domestic and international flights from across the UK and beyond. From Edinburgh, it’s an easy 45-minute drive or train ride into Fife over the Forth Bridge or Queensferry Crossing.

For guests travelling by train, Fife has multiple railway stations, including Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, and Leuchars for St Andrews, with regular services from Edinburgh, Glasgow and more.

Driving to Fife is straightforward, with the M90 and A92 providing quick access from Edinburgh, Dundee and Perth. Coastal and countryside roads make for a beautiful scenic drive, though guests should be prepared for narrow country lanes in more rural areas.
