Nestled on the edge of the South Downs in wonderful rolling countryside with a distant view of the sea, St Oswald's Church is a wonderfully romantic place in which to celebrate your wedding. Dating back to the 12th century, St Oswald's is steeped in history, and our organist and our own team of very active bellringers will ensure the perfect musical accompaniment for your ceremony. While surrounded by greenery and fields beyond, we have ample parking and are also conveniently located for a number of attractive venues for your reception afterwards, including some placed right on the seafront! We are a church venue but do not have reception facilities.

How flexible are you about making our wedding personal to us?
Our church will conduct a religious service in accordance with the rites of the Anglican Church, but within those parameters there is a lot of scope for personal touches (readings, music, etc).
Can you also host wedding receptions?
While we have outside space that can be used for some limited entertainment, the rural location of our church means that couples will choose from one of the many nearby hotels (including on the seafront!), pubs and country houses to host their reception after the wedding service in our church.
How easy is it to get to your church?
There is a large car parking space right next to the church if you are travelling by car. If you are coming by train, the nearest stations will be Battle (on the London Charing Cross - Hastings line), Pevensey & Westham (on the Ashford International - Eastbourne line) or Polegate (on the London Victoria - Eastbourne line).
