Civil wedding ceremonies & partnerships, with a maximum number of 90 guests (seated) can be held in the Great Hall and Panel Room between 10am and 6pm. If you are considering a church blessing, the beautiful Rockingham parish church, St Leonard’s, stands in the castle grounds just a short walk away. Consent for the use of the church is by separate arrangement with the parish vicar.
After the ceremony, you are welcome to use the gardens and grounds for formal photography. During this time, your guests may be entertained at a drinks reception in Walker’s House, which is part of the Castle and close at hand for guests to be called for photographs as required. Alternatively, if the weather is suitable drinks can be served on the Terraced Lawn with the backdrop of the Castle & stunning views over the Welland Valley.
For a full reception Walker’s House is available. We can seat up to 90 guests and with an evening buffet can cater for 120. Walker’s House has a dining area, and separate bar and dance floor and further rooms are available if required. We have excellent caterers who can meet the most exacting requirements, together with an extensive range of wines for use with our table licence. A selection of menus & a drinks list is contained in our information pack.
Should you wish to have more space, possibly for a bigger party after the ceremony, a marquee can be attached to Walker’s House. This gives more room for dancing and effectively ‘closes the square’ of the Courtyard. For a full reception, there are additional for catering, a marquee, if required, & marquee site fee. The Castle and gardens are exclusively yours for the day; no other events take place simultaneously.
