Where do I start!
5 stars is just not enough for this amazing wedding venue. Dodford Manor as a venue is impeccable. The styling, the layout and the feel about it was perfect on our wedding day, 25th September 2020, after a whirlwind year of restrictions, frustration and sadness.
We first booked this venue back in February 2019. It was a faultless process with their professional, attentive and responsive team who made us feel at home from the first time we visited the venue. The teams passion and love for this venue and their jobs really shone through. We knew this was the venue for us, so decided on the date of 7th October 2020 (way before Covid was a thing) and they kept us updated throughout the planning and lead up to the big day. The team was always on hand whenever we needed questions answered or when we wanted to have a quick visit to help us plan our big day.
One year before our big day, we were invited to a taster day and to get a good feel for how our wedding would play out. Seeing the venue alive and with people in it was amazing. The caterers, Jenkinson's, who are partnered with Dodford, were faultless. The food, service and attention to detail was incredible, let alone the no corkage for your day either, what other venue offers that?
Covid-19 then hit the UK and the wedding industry took a massive hit. Despite the pandemic, this amazing team were always on hand to help us in these worrying times and still did it all with a smile. At this point back in March, we were still confident that our wedding date wouldn't be affected, but weren't we wrong.
When Boris made the announcement that weddings would be cut to 30 it broke our hearts. After many sleepless nights, we made the decision we were still going to get married and took the hard decision to cut our numbers down to 30. Dodford's amazing professional team were on hand and kept us updated on new rulings and how restrictions would take place on our day. We even asked Dodford if we could cut our day shorter to 9pm, to which they only charged us for the hours we had the venue. If that isn't customer service, I don't know what is, especially in these hardship times.
I was at work on Tuesday 22nd September 2020 when Boris made the announcement that from 28th September 2020, weddings and receptions would be reduced from 30 to 15. The unthinkable had happened. All the hard work, upset and heart-breaking decisions to reduce our wedding to 30 was taken away from us. My wife to be was devastated. After consoling her and saying "we will get married Friday, don't worry", an ambitious thing to stay let alone promise, the Magical team and Dodford then really proved that they are the best wedding venue not just in Northamptonshire, but in the country.
I was on the phone to Rachel the General manager and wow! she was like a guardian angel that day. She managed to reorganise and make our wedding happen in just 2 days! yes 2 days! when a wedding usually takes 2 years to plan. We had the venue secured for Friday. Rachel even lined up and confirmed the caterers for us too. Our biggest worry was trying to get hold of the registrars. I had no luck with this, but Dodford manor pulled out all the stops and not just got them confirmed for Friday, but for our exact same ceremony time. AMAZING!
All our other suppliers were our true hero's too, pulling out all the stops in 3 days to supply our day. Thank you; Jenkinson's Caterers, Jack Haddon Florist, Gardners Bakery, White Violet Venue Decorators, Fogarty Formal Suit hire, Make up by Sarah Evans, Bridal Hair Design, Northampton Vintage Wedding Cars and finally Mark Fraser Photography, you made our day perfect.
Dodford Manor and Team made our wedding day amazing and pulled off the miracle of making it happen in just 3 days. Ashleigh our wedding manager for the day was perfect and was always on hand. From the bottom of mine and my wife's heart. Thank you.
If you're still deciding whether to go for this venue and their magical team, you will not be disappointed.
