Judd’s Folly Hotel is a charming Georgian manor set in picturesque grounds on the outskirts of Faversham, Kent. With its historic character, beautiful surroundings and relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, we offer couples a wonderful setting for a wedding that feels personal, memorable and completely their own.
We cater for weddings of all sizes and styles, from intimate celebrations with your closest family and friends to larger wedding receptions filled with dancing and celebration. Our venue offers a choice of beautiful spaces, licensed ceremony areas and our unique woodland ceremony setting, giving couples the flexibility to create a day that suits them.
Our New Cromwell Suite provides a stunning setting for larger celebrations, with space for up to 180 guests, its own bar and plenty of room for dining, dancing and celebrating. For something more intimate, we have alternative function spaces that can be tailored to suit your guest numbers and style.
One of the things that makes Judd’s Folly special is that everything can be brought together in one place. Couples can hold their ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception with us, while their guests can stay overnight in our boutique-style bedrooms. We also offer a beautiful bridal suite for the wedding night, making it easy for you and your guests to relax and enjoy the celebrations without having to worry about travelling between venues.

We looked around in March when there were no leaves on the trees etc. Fast forward to September. We were lucky with the weather and had our ceremony outside - the sun was shining the leaves green, even our dogs were made welcome. The team at the hotel are fabulous and really looked after us, especially our auntie who suffers with parkinsons. Inside for our reception it was truly perfect - the room is really pretty with they way it's set out and lit and the food was fabulous. Honestly, had the best day and would not have changed a thing. As our page boy said on Sunday wish we could do it all again We only booked our wedding in March but had the most amazing day on Saturday. Carlie and all the staff were so organised, friendly and polite, and were always on hand to help whenever needed. A special mention has to go to all the staff who were working in the early hours of the morning to make the room look absolutely beautiful. The amount of effort and hard work that went on behind the scenes really showed, and we truly appreciated everything they did. Everything went off perfectly without a single issue. Carlie was fantastic from the very beginning, keeping everyone organised and making sure everything was ready and running smoothly. A special shout out to the lovely Vicky who welcomed us on arrival at reception with her lovely smile and friendly nature putting us all at ease ,I knew then we was all going to have a great time. She is a little ray of sunshine ☀️ also the young man that attended the bar on both nights I think his name was Cisco ? he was both charming and professional, remembering my little splash of lemonade with every drink without me even having to ask. 🫶 Last, but not least the wonderful Carlie🌸 No words are enough for her exceptional work, not only on the day but leading up to the wedding with her constant support for our daughter and her husband Taking on Every need and request leaving them with nothing to worry about.. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
It’s almost impossible to choose just one! Every wedding at Judd’s Folly is special for different reasons, but the weddings that stand out most are the ones where the couple’s personality really shines through.
We love seeing a couple take our historic venue and make it completely their own – from beautiful ceremony décor and personal touches, to relaxed drinks in the grounds, a delicious wedding breakfast and a packed dance floor in the evening.
For us, the best weddings are the ones where the couple, their family and friends can truly relax and enjoy themselves, knowing that everything is taken care of. Seeing a bride and groom surrounded by the people they love, celebrating late into the evening, is exactly what makes hosting weddings at Judd’s Folly so special.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Our number one tip is don’t lose sight of what your wedding is actually about – celebrating the two of you!
There can be so much pressure to have the “perfect” wedding, but the best days are the ones that feel personal and reflect you as a couple. Prioritise the things that matter most to you, set a realistic budget, and don’t be afraid to ask your venue and suppliers for advice – we’ve seen hundreds of weddings and are here to help make the planning as stress-free as possible.
And most importantly, remember to enjoy the journey! The day really does go by in the blink of an eye. ❤️
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
One of our favourite personal touches is when couples bring their own story into the little details of the day. We’ve seen everything from personalised table names and photographs of the couple throughout the years, to thoughtful favours and decorations that reflect their personalities and shared interests.
The most memorable touches are often the simplest ones – handwritten notes for guests, a special family tradition, or a little surprise that has meaning to the couple. It’s those personal details that turn a beautiful wedding into a celebration that feels completely unique to them. One of our favourites was a pair of secondary school sweethearts showcased their journey by creating a photo timeline from when they first met to the wedding day. It was a heartfelt trip down memory lane for all the guests.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Our favourite photo spot has to be our woodland ceremony area and Gazebo. Surrounded by greenery and the natural beauty of the grounds, it creates a beautiful, romantic backdrop for photographs and is especially magical when the light is just right.
We also love the character of the Georgian manor itself, which makes a lovely backdrop for more traditional wedding photographs. There are plenty of little corners around the grounds too, so couples can capture a real mix of relaxed, romantic and fun photographs throughout the day. The historic Judd's Folly arch set in the Woodland Ceremony Area. Always a favourite photo op for the newly weds and all the guests!
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
We prefer not to disclose our celebrity guest's identies. Although, we are very proud of a rich history of events and attendees.

One of the most unique things about Judd’s Folly is the combination of our historic Georgian manor setting with a dedicated modern wedding and events space. You get the charm and character of a country house, beautiful grounds and a woodland ceremony area, alongside a spacious ballroom and everything you need for your celebrations under one roof.
We also love that couples can have a wedding that feels completely their own, whether they’re planning an intimate celebration or a larger party. It’s the character, flexibility and relaxed atmosphere of the venue that really makes Judd’s Folly different. Above all the Victorian Folly!
What part of your business are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of the personal service we offer and the relationships we build with our customers. At Judd’s Folly, we genuinely want every couple and every event to feel special, rather than simply being another booking in the diary.
It’s incredibly rewarding when couples return to us for anniversaries, recommend us to friends and family, or choose to celebrate another important occasion with us. Knowing that people trust us with some of the most memorable days of their lives is something we’re very proud of.
We’re also proud of being able to offer everything under one roof – from the ceremony and wedding breakfast to accommodation and the evening celebrations – while still giving couples the flexibility to make their day personal to them.
