Full Description
Wilderness is a gorgeous green 600 acre valley with a boating lake, ancient woodland, water meadows with huge open skies, and incredible views over the farmland and beyond. We have two separate licensed areas on site for legally binding Civil Ceremonies and Partnerships on the lake, the architecturally designed Woodsman's Cabin with Chapel Tent and a beautiful upturned wooden clinker boat. You can choose to legally marry on in either the enchanting rustic Woodsman's Cabin, or outside in the open air, surrounded by nature and wild flowers. We even have the best bathrooms you will ever see at an events venue! The best crafts people have designed and built the quirky tin tabernacle chapel which is the coolest place to take a tinkle and and powder you nose! The Wilderness is a paradise full of wild birds, butterflies, foxgloves, swans, magical oak trees and meadow flowers. Receptions take place in THREE magnificent interconnected 'Kata' (big hat) tipis which are set up for the wedding breakfast and evening celebration. Guests are seated at hand crafted long wooden tables with benches, and can feast on all manner locally sourced and foraged 'feasting' menus. Our caterers are all highly creative and willing to take on any challenge. We also have our own purpose built, upcycled wooden Champagne shack bar, which serves some woodland inspired cocktails and even locally grown Kentish wines from our favourite suppliers Chapel Down, Simpsons Wine Estate and the new exclusive 'Chartham Vineyard.' Our staff are on hand to create the most magical day for you.

We can't sing the praises of Wilderness and the team highly enough!
''Our wedding was so much more than we could ever have hoped for. In large part, this was down to the amazing location that was Wilderness Weddings, Kent. The team at Wilderness made this possible with their vision for a wedding in the rolling picturesque Kent countryside, complete with stunning woodlands, fields and a lake by which the ceremony was held (check out the pictures!) The team were so creative in turning this setting into an almost dreamlike venue. But at the same time, they were never overbearing and were very clear that it was our wedding and that they were happy to accommodate all our ideas and suggestions for doing things. You simply don't get this freedom at a conventional wedding venue, just one of the things that attracted us to Wilderness! With a woodland wedding like this, you are putting a lot of trust in the venue and organising team. But given their track record in running weddings at the stunning, nearby Preston Court, we were confident that the team's style would fit exactly the kind of look and relaxed, informal vibe we were going for. They did not disappoint. Organising a woodland wedding requires a lot of planning. Like all those small things you usually take for granted, like vehicle access and power! But the team thought of every last detail. Like the brilliant vintage buses provided to take all the guests there and back. And, whilst for our day, the weather was great, the team also put a lot of effort into developing some really great alternative options in case the rain came. You would never have known that this (and many of our guests were surprised) was the first wedding they had delivered at Wilderness. The result was a simply stunning wedding. We both are of course biased, but it was interesting to see how our guests were equally wowed by the location and experience. We are so pleased that we went for a different kind of wedding at Wilderness. As you will see from the pictures, it was a day that nobody there will ever forget. We can't sing the praises of Wilderness and the team highly enough!''
