Hawthbush Farm is a relaxed and beautifully rural wedding venue set within 140 acres of organic farmland, ancient woodland and wildflower meadows in the East Sussex countryside.

We’re not a traditional, polished wedding venue – and that’s exactly the point. Hawthbush is for couples looking for somewhere natural, informal and full of character, where they can create a celebration that genuinely feels like their own.

Say your vows in our licensed woodland ceremony space, surrounded by trees and countryside, before heading back to the farm for drinks and celebrations. Our rustic barn can seat up to 150 guests for your wedding breakfast, with a stretch tent, outdoor seating and a huge firepit providing plenty of space to eat, drink and relax outside.

As home to the award-winning Gun Brewery, great beer is naturally part of life at Hawthbush. Alongside our own craft beers, we work with selected local vineyards and suppliers, with plenty of flexibility when it comes to food, drink and making the day your own.

We want couples to feel at home at Hawthbush, with the freedom and flexibility to put their own stamp on the space and create a wedding that reflects them.

For couples who want to make a weekend of it, our converted farm cottages and private glamping site can accommodate up to 40 guests on the farm. You can even extend the celebrations with Friday night drinks or a relaxed Sunday get-together at our brewery taproom.

The Grain Store at Hawthbush offers a magical countryside setting for your special day. With a beautifully converted barn, stretch tent, firepit field, and woodland blessing area, where you can host up to 150-180 guests in a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. Both the barn and woodland are licensed for weddings, and the bar is fully stocked with Gun Beer. Exclusive use of the space allows for setup the afternoon before and time to enjoy the morning after. To give you some idea of the package we offer, for 2027, our venue prices are as follows: · Exclusive hire fee is £4,725 + VAT for weekend events (and bank holidays) during peak season (April - October). We also offer a midweek wedding package for £3,500. · Both options include access to the wedding barn, stretch tent, BBQ barn and lawn, and the licensed woodland ceremony area. · Enjoy a relaxed setup the day before from midday and check-out the day after until midday

The best day ever!The best day ever!
Hawthbush Farm was the perfect venue for us, lots of outdoor space, surrounded by fields and onsite accommodation. Bella was really helpful throughout the planning stages, unfortunately she couldn't be there on the day but Jane and Archie were both amazing on the day and always there with a glass of fizz, help with tech or anything we needed! There had been lots of improvements since we viewed the venue that have only improbed it. The venue is beautiful as is but Hawthbush are very relaxed about adding decorations and your own personal touch which was great for our colourful wedding. It felt extra special having the whole weekend to celebrate, with drinks at the Brewery next door on Friday and debrief with breakfast on Sunday. The hot tubs were a particular hit with our guests! Circa were amazing, really helpful during the planning and responding to all of our questions. A huge shout out for how many dietary requirements and allergies they catered for! On the day they were so attentive to anything us or our guests needed. So many guests are still talking about the pie - it was an absolute hit! The icecream cart was also fab and needed in the hot July sun. We had the absolute best day and are sad that we can't come back and do it every year! It really was the perfect venue for the perfect day and our guests haven't stopped saying how great our wedding was. If you're thinking of choosing Hawthbush as your wedding venue then do it!! A Stunning Venue with Wonderful StaffA Stunning Venue with Wonderful Staff
We fell in love with Hawthbush Farm as soon as we visited. It had everything we were looking for in a wedding venue: a relaxed atmosphere in a beautiful setting, with a taproom next door and its own brewery. The venue has so much character on its own, but it also gave us the freedom to add our own personal touches and really make the day feel like us. It made choosing our venue incredibly easy. Communication was generally good throughout the planning process. Although responses were a little slower further out from the wedding, they became efficient and reassuring in the weeks leading up to our day. Since we booked, the venue had undergone some lovely improvements. The stretch tent had been transformed into a beautiful wet weather ceremony space and a fantastic area for guests to mingle outside, and the addition of the large barn window made the space even more special. One thing I do have to mention is the meadow field, as it caused us quite a lot of worry in the lead-up to the wedding. We found out fairly late that the field was being replanted as a wildflower meadow. It sounded like a wonderful idea, but unfortunately, because of the weather, it hadn't grown by the time of our wedding. We'd originally chosen the venue partly because of its beautiful surroundings, so it was disappointing and did cause some last-minute stress. Looking back, I think more communication about this earlier in the process would have helped manage our expectations. By the wedding day, though, it didn't matter nearly as much as we'd feared, and we found lovely alternative locations for our photos. We got married in the summer of 2026 and somehow managed to choose the only rainy weekend of the season! I spent far too much time worrying that we wouldn't be able to have our woodland ceremony. Bella was incredibly kind and reassuring, talking everything through with me, sending photos and videos of the wet weather setup, and helping me feel confident that the day would still be special. In the end, although we couldn't get married outside, the backup ceremony space looked absolutely beautiful, and everything came together perfectly. Bella was always warm, friendly and helpful throughout the planning process, especially as we didn't live locally. She regularly sent photos, videos and voice notes to keep us updated, which we really appreciated. Toby, who managed the bar and venue on the day, also deserves a special mention, as do all of the staff and Jane, who even helped clean some dirt from the bow on my dress! Circa were outstanding. The food was exceptional, everything ran like clockwork, and the team went above and beyond by helping us set up the tables and adding thoughtful touches throughout the day. We received so many compliments about the food, with the hasselback potato canapés and bean side dish getting shout outs from our guests! Despite a few pre-wedding worries, we truly had the party of our lives and couldn't have asked for a more memorable wedding day. Thank you to everyone at Hawthbush Farm for helping make it so special. The best day of our lives! The best day of our lives!
We had the most incredible wedding day and are so grateful to the entire team at Hawthbush for giving us the best day we could ever ask for! The venue space is absolutely amazing, and exactly what we wanted. We were able to have our dream woodland ceremony under an oak tree, as well as an incredible wedding celebration with plenty of outdoor space for games with covered areas for shade as well as seating dotted across the entire space. Hawthbush is a stunning venue already, so we were able to save a lot of money on decorations as you barely need them! The added upgrades to the space were a huge bonus, including an amazing new window added to the seated area for our dinner. The entire staff team on the day were amazing, and Bella was so helpful in the lead up to our big day supporting with all of the coordination. I would also highly recommend their catering partner Circa, we did not stop receiving compliments on the food all day from our guests and it was so much fun seeing it get cooked outside on the BBQ! The final thing to mention is you’re able to have up to 40 guests on site, in either guest houses or their glamping area. The accommodation options are all beautiful, with plenty of space and facilities to get ready in the morning, plus our guests absolutely loved the hot tubs! We were able to have all of our closest friends and family stay, and it made the wedding not just a day but an entire weekend of joy that we will always remember. Our dream weddingOur dream wedding
We are so grateful to Toby, Bella and the Hawthbush farm team for making our wedding day so amazing. The ceremony area the grain store, accommodations and their surrounding views are so beautiful and Bella’s presence, support and organisational skills made everything run so smoothly. The setting itself is just so beautiful and it was thoughtfully and tastefully decorated with lovely lights and a gorgeous fire pit in the evening. We had the wedding day of our dreams and are still on such a high from it. We are so grateful to Toby, Bella and the Hawthbush farm team for making our wedding day so amazing. The ceremony area the grain store, accommodations and their surrounding views are so beautiful and Bella’s presence, support and organisational skills made everything run so smoothly. It truly felt like a home away from home, set in the most beautiful countryside, with sweeping views across the fields and downs. From the moment we chose Hawthbush, Bella and the team were there to help with everything. The catering was outstanding - honestly one of the best meals we've had! We had a BBQ with sea bream and fresh vegetables that we’re still dreaming about to this day! It tasted home-cooked, delicious, and celebratory - no small feat when cooking for over 100 guests! The party we threw at Hawthbush has gone down in history among our friends and family, with so many saying it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to. We have Hawthbush Farm and the entire incredible team to thank for that. Best Wedding Venue!Best Wedding Venue!
Our wedding at Hawthbush Farm was easily the best day of our lives. Bella, both Tobys, and the rest of the team went above and beyond to make sure everything ran as smoothly as possible. They were incredibly accommodating and flexible throughout the day, adjusting to whatever we needed. Even though we managed to book the rainiest day of the month, we somehow found a sunny gap and were able to have our ceremony outside, just as we’d hoped! The celebrants, whom we met only shortly before the ceremony, were so relaxed and funny that they immediately put us at ease. The ceremony itself, held out in the woods, was absolutely beautiful. The caterers, Circa Events, were fantastic, we had so many guests tell us afterward how much they loved the food. We’d definitely recommend having a live band too; it fit the vibe of the barn wedding perfectly and really brought the evening to life. Our friends and family stayed in the onsite accommodation, which was lovely and convenient. Even though Toby’s farm is close to much of the accommodation, it never felt intrusive in any way. We couldn’t recommend Hawthbush Farm more highly, the venue, staff, and whole atmosphere made it truly unforgettable.Our wedding at Hawthbush Farm was easily the best day of our lives. The best weekend of our lives! The best weekend of our lives!
Hawthbush was the first and only wedding venue we saw - we didn’t need to see anymore after falling in love with it! It was perfect - outdoor woodland ceremony, beautiful countryside views, on-site brewery which we booked for the Friday night and Sunday to make a full weekend of celebrations, straw bails, firepits, glamping and beautiful farm houses, hot tubs, stretch tent reception area and barn big enough to seat our 150 guests and plenty of room dance - it literally had everything we wanted, which we thought would be impossible to find! Bella was amazing throughout - so kind, attentive and accommodating. Tobes, Nausicaa and all the other staff were brilliant too - so friendly and welcoming. They really think of all the big and small things to make the day run smoothly and feel special. We also met Toby the owner over the weekend who was great and made us feel so welcomed at his home and farm. No other venue can compareNo other venue can compare
Hawthbush were the second venue we visited and after that we didn’t need to see another. They were adaptable to our various needs, and made their venue so we could make our wedding our own and genuinely made us feel special as a bride and groom. So many places churn out weddings and make you pick their packages whereas Hawthbush allow movement and room for you to make your day how you want it. From the get go Bella was fab, always responsive to messages and laying out when payments and different things needed confirming. They work with their brewery and it means you get a fantastic variety of beer rather than the usual warm Amstel and it just lifts the mood. On the day they were first class and made sure everything was adaptable as timings slipped and made each possible issue seem like no bother. Organising a wedding with 150 guests is hard but Hawthbush made it seem so easy. The ceremony area is a fairytale dreamland to get married in, the barn and fields are perfect for photos. I cried with joy the first time I saw the venue, and the photos and memories we made from our day are something we will treasure forever and I will continue to cry with joy that we got to get married there! The on site accommodation is superb, we had friends that would never usually camp LOVE glamping and it was all better than described! I don’t think we could have found a better venue for us if we’d hunted through a million more. They were adaptable to our various needs, and made their venue so we could make our wedding our own and genuinely made us feel special as a bride and groom. So many places churn out weddings and make you pick their packages whereas Hawthbush allow movement and room for you to make your day how you want it. From the get go Bella was fab, always responsive to messages and laying out when payments and different things needed confirming. They work with their brewery and it means you get a fantastic variety of beer rather than the usual warm Amstel and it just lifts the mood. On the day they were first class and made sure everything was adaptable as timings slipped and made each possible issue seem like no bother. Organising a wedding with 150 guests is hard but Hawthbush made it seem so easy. The ceremony area is a fairytale dreamland to get married in, the barn and fields are perfect for photos. I cried with joy the first time I saw the venue, and the photos and memories we made from our day are something we will treasure forever and I will continue to cry with joy that we got to get married there! The on site accommodation is superb, we had friends that would never usually camp LOVE glamping and it was all better than described! I don’t think we could have found a better venue for us if we’d hunted through a million more. Thank you Hawthbush you truly are magical.

Hawthbush Farm maintains an intimate atmosphere by hosting only a few weddings each season, with just one wedding per weekend from June to September, ensuring exclusive use and dedicated attention to your event.

The Grain Store barn comes with simple and tasteful décor such as bunting and festoons. However, couples are encouraged to bring their own personal decorative touches to make the space uniquely theirs.

We have some really lovely accommodation options at the farm including our popular 7-bedroom Hamlet, and a 3-bedroom cottage which is located just near the wedding venue. We also have a private glamping site that can accommodate around 20 guests featuring pre-erected bell tents and two Shepherd's huts. In total we can sleep approximately 43 guests.
