Lower House Farm Full Description
A secluded, rural location set in the Olchon Valley on a 70 acre farm with dramatic mountain backdrop. The folding glass doors of the barn open up onto a pretty lawn, orchard and wildflower meadow with plenty of space for guests to explore. The super friendly team at Lower House Farm have a flexible approach, allowing you to put your own stamp on the venue and create the day you’ve dreamed of. With a dedicated wedding coordinator to help you plan the day, they can offer as much or as little support as you would like. Exclusive to you, the beautifully restored, 17th century barn with vaulted ceilings, flagstone floors and oak timber beams has space for up to 120 guests to feast on long wooden tables with sheepskin adorned benches. Once transformed for the evening, there is capacity for up to 150 guests to party the night away. Using their home reared meat as well as locally sourced produce, your wedding feast will be cooked in the woodfired outdoor kitchen. Whilst your guests mingle, they can watch the kitchen magic happen and enjoy wafts of succulent joints of meat and charred seasonal veg being prepared. Take a stroll to their own secret waterfall, play lawn games in the huge field bordering the Olchon Brook, have photos with the dramatic mountain backdrop and even toast marshmallows around the firepit come sunset. A wildly beautiful space to host a day to remember. Book a stay at their nearby country farmhouse, Old Great Marlborough, sleeping 22 and make the most of the wood fired hot tub and fabulous outdoor space!

October Wedding
My Husband and I were married at Lower House Farm in October 2023 and couldn't recommend them enough. Everyone we liaised with was so friendly and our wedding coordinator Natalie was so lovely, organised and very patient!! The venue is stunning, food and drink delicious and everyone involved so laid back and a pleasure to work with. They team are very genuine people and made it a very personal experience for us- unlike other venues we viewed which just seemed like they churned out weddings. We would also recommend their pub the Bulls Head in Craswall- we both had group events there in the lead up and food is delicious with great service. We had so many positive comments from our guests and truly had the best time. Thanks to everyone at Wild by nature & Lower House Farm for your help in making it such a great day and enjoyable lead up!!

A really supportive team in a truly unique venue
We booked our wedding at Lower House Farm two years in advance (during the pandemic) and throughout the whole lead up to our big day, the Wild By Nature team remained attentive, accommodating, thoughtful and supportive in every way you could ask for! Their venue absolutely sang in the Autumn sunshine and we were so thrilled to be able to have our ceremony under their stunning oak tree. Having the wedding breakfast in the restored barn on their long feasting tables gave it exactly the convivial, generous feeling we were going for. We really appreciated the team going the extra mile and securing an extra license to be able to have our ceilidh band play in their covered courtyard. The team’s help with set up and take down made a huge difference to our experience. Last but by no means least, the food was exceptional! From the canapés to the drinks, the incredible slow roast hogget to the fantastic curries, our guests were so impressed by the quality (and quantity) of food and drink on offer. If you are looking for a relaxed venue that will make you fall in love with the outdoors all over again and food that will keep you and your guests talking for months, this is the venue for you.

Amazing venue!
We had an amazing wedding at Lower house farm on 9th September! Amie and her team were brilliant and supportive throughout the whole planning process. The food was amazing we got lots of compliments from guests. We were lucky enough to have the sun shining all day so everyone got to enjoy all the lovely outdoor spaces on offer! We also stayed at Old Great Marlborough with our family and friends so we were able to make a weekend of it something that was really important to us. We would absolutely recommend getting married at Lower house farm.

Outstanding venue and staff
We can’t fault a single part of this venue. From the booking and planning to the day itself, completely amazing. Our wedding coordinator, Natalie, from lower house farm, made the whole experience stress free and fun. The day was perfect and we wish we could relive it. Plus the food was to die for. We also hired old great Marlborough house for us and our wedding party which really added to our wedding experience, providing facilities for a BBQ with all our guests the night before the wedding meant we really made the most of having our friends and family together. Would highly recommend this venue.

The very best!
We had the most magical day at Lower House Farm. Emily was amazing with all the planning and on the day, so everything was just perfect. We got married on a sunny November day and were able to have a beautiful ceremony in the open barn. For anyone wanting a more sustainable wedding with the most incredibly delicious locally sourced food - this is the venue for you. Could not recommend it enough!

The most perfect wedding venue
Words cannot describe how wonderful Lower House Farm is as a wedding venue. It is simply perfect! We got married here in early November 2021 with a ceremony in the yard area and a fantastic meal inside the barn. Emily is a fantastic wedding coordinator and made sure the day went smoothly. From our initial contact to the day and beyond she has been there answering questions and helping us to plan our perfect day, nothing was ever too much trouble! The food was fantastic, head chef Esther and her team created an incredible meal not to forget the delicious canapés to begin and pizzas in the evening. They catered for complex dietary requirements and the food was enjoyed by all. The vegetarian option (butternut squash Wellington) was a particular hit amongst our guests! The drinks were fantastic too with a delicious hot honey and gin drink that warmed everyone up, local wines and bubbles and much more. A massive thanks to the bar team, led by Dougal, who were so incredibly friendly. We used lots of the recommended suppliers who were all fantastic too. Thank you Lower house farm for our perfect wedding day. We wouldn’t change a thing and would recommend you to anyone considering getting married in the area. We cannot thank you enough.
