Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
We can't choose, as we love all of our weddings, they're so unique!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
We want to keep in the know about your wedding - good communication with our events team is super important so that we are all on the same page. We are more than happy to help with the finer details to make your dream wedding come to life!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Live music - whether it be walking down the aisle, during the drinks reception or just for the evening celebrations; live music just adds something extra special. In the past, we have seen a full Jazz band perform outside for the drinks reception, a saxophonist play the night away and the all important Scottish bag-piper during guest arrival. We were also lucky enough to experience a string quartet accompanying the bride and her party down the aisle - Truly special.
Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.
Spacious, historic, blank-canvas, rural, magical
Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
In front of the main house, which is a huge, lush lawn lined with gorgeous tall trees. It offers plenty of space for all your guests, for a perfect party photo - either in front of the house or in front of the beautiful Scottish Borders view!
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Not yet, but we do have one very special guest getting hitched with us in 2023!
What’s your favourite canapé?
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Pizza all the way!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
The gardens, which include a wishing tree, walled garden, wooded area and have lots of two legged friends roaming in between the bushes and flowers - peacocks, geese and doves!
What part of your business are you most proud of?
We are a new and exclusive-use venue. When we took over Wedderlie House in 2019 it needed a huge amount of renovating - we are proud of the high standard we've accomplished.
