Empty promises
It could be a fantastic venue if it delivered on everything they promise on initial viewing of the venue, and if they put a little bit effort into repairs etc, looking very tired and things broken/not working. Broken lamp, door lock hanging off, sauna broken etc. Also need to improve on the food for the children … £25pp for a child for two tiny slices of pizza, paid extra for childminders during the wedding breakfast for kids to have a pizza party and the kids were running around, not being watched by childminders and they were having to eat some of their parents food as children up to 11 years old told they are not allowed any more pizza. Promised desserts but then they cut up my wedding cake and served that instead! £75 per head for adult meals to not get an actual dessert! They offered me £400 for my silence as they did not want me to tell anyone about our awful experience. The staff did try to help as much as possible but the owners, especially Deb were horrendous to work with. Deb was creeping in the kitchen in the dark, whilst our guests were enjoying drinks on our first night in the next room, father in law nearly had a heart attack when he walked into the kitchen to use the bin and she was stood there! (They have a house out the back of the venue). Groom and best man had to serve everyone drinks at the wedding breakfast as staff were meant to be doing this but they disappeared and left everyone without drinks. Paid extra for staff to serve drinks and clean up on the 3rd day… never once served a drink and my guests had to clean up, emptying bins etc that staff left overflowing! The staff were too busy doing chores such as cleaning windows instead of looking after the guests that were paid to do, as they had been given a list of things to do from Deb. Staff even left notes lying round which had been given to them by Deb, a list of jobs to do which included ‘wipe ars*s’. I went to a similar venue as a guest to a wedding that is only 10 minutes down the road from our house (hence why we did not consider this venue as it was too close to home for us) but if you like the idea of a 3 day wedding… look at Shotton Grange in Northumberland instead.

something truely wonderful
Working as a wedding photographer for over 10 years, I've been to more than a few venues, but none compare to Branxholm. I was lucky enough to shoot there in my first year and right from the start I loved it. Deb and David are such warm, amazing people who make everyone feel so welcome and always go above and beyond to make the day exactly as you want it to be. The staff are always friendly and professional, nothing ever seems to be a bother and the food is just incredible! One of the things I enjoy the most about shooting up there is the layout of the building and grounds. Deb and David have obviously put a lot of thought and work into everything and it really just helps the day flow so smoothly. There are numerous options for the ceremony-in the summer house, under the pergola or on the decking, all of which are stunning to shoot. The orangery is so light and full of character, you don't need to add any decoration, and every part of the house and grounds seems to add something different, from the fire pit and swings, to the kids park, pizza oven, and even a wine cellar that leads into a hidden kareoke room. There's a new secret around every corner, with something for all of your guests. The venue creates a feel unlike any other on your wedding, more like a lovely garden party than a formal, traditional wedding. I honestly could talk about this place, and the lovely people who work there, all day long but the short version is that if you're looking for something truely wonderful for your day, you will never regret giving Branxholm a look! x

Best Weekend of our lives
This is an honest (and long) review!....... We booked our wedding two years prior to our wedding date after reading all 5-star reviews. After our initial visit, we fell in love with the place. David was very helpful and welcoming and answered lots of questions and even invited us back the following year, around the same date we would be wed, so we could see what the gardens would look like at that time of year, everything seemed perfect. Due to a change in work, we had to move country before our wedding and as you can imagine, organising a wedding from another country was worrying. As the time grew closer to the wedding, I was becoming a nervous wreck! It was good to know that we had a lot less to worry about than most couples due to what was included in our package. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of reading some negative reviews prior to the wedding, which were completely different from the reviews we read before booking. Now, as an already extremely nervous bride and organising a wedding from another country, this honestly made me panic. Panicking to the point I was dreading our wedding day. I only had to email Debbie once to show her my cake ideas and my colour choices for the wedding day etc. and that was that. Being the panicking bride, I thought that there must be more to it, why are we not having lots of communication going over everything again and again like you hear about most weddings??? I now realise that’s because David and Debbie are so good at what they do, there is no need to be inundated with infinite details. Debbie got everything I wanted spot-on from the start, and the wedding cake not only looked amazing, but it tasted divine!! Every detail I had provided was done perfectly; even better than what I imagined. As for the house itself, it is beautiful, absolutely stunning. If you are after a modern, sleek designed, meticulous house, then this probably isn't for you. However, if you are looking for a genuine beauty with character, charm, warmth, and love, then this is the place. The house is a very old property, that's what it is, and it has been lovingly cared for. The grounds are just amazing, you can see how much time and effort has been spent on them. From our arrival, Debbie made us feel more than welcome and completely relaxed. Everyone settled in quickly, even the dog. Our wedding day itself was beyond what we anticipated and of course, my nerves were even worse! Louise looked after us all in the morning and made everything run smoothly. When Becky, our wedding co-ordinator arrived she immediately gave me the 'calm' I needed (even when I was continually telling her I was going to be sick due to the nerves!). She was so supportive, and she really was my piece of calm through the entire day, she is a complete asset to the venue. All the kids at the wedding had an absolute ball, having their pizza party and had no need to listen to the boring adult's speeches. Our photographer, videographer and singer were all looked after throughout the day too. Every member of staff was outstanding, every single one of them worked super hard and was always so friendly, supportive, and welcoming. David and Debbie's two boys are an absolute credit to them both, they worked exceptionally hard every day. The chef was just an absolute gem, every bit of food out of his kitchen was just superb! Branxholm Park House really is something special. We wanted a very intimate wedding, along with basically a big house party, and that is exactly what we got; it really was far beyond our expectations. By far, the most favourite part for us was the ceremony itself in the gorgeous little chapel on site. It was so personal, intimate, special, and memorable. We would have paid just for the ceremony itself, everything else included was a bonus. Also, for me, the fact that our dog was with us the entire time, meant the world! So, to David, Debbie, the boys, Becky, and every single member of staff, thank you so very much for the best weekend of our lives!

A Hidden Gem
I have photographed a couple of Weddings at Branxholm Park and every time I go I am always in awe of what a beautiful and individual venue it is, it is a hidden gem! It is the perfect spot if you're looking for a venue that feels secluded and private as you get the whole place to yourselves, and you're tucked away in the countryside. The decor and the location makes it easy to get beautiful Wedding photos, and it is a venue that suits all seasons. I have always felt looked after by the staff myself and I have seen with my own eyes how much of a good service they provide to their guests. All in all a real hidden gem!

I can’t praise this venue enough! It’s absolutely magical and our wedding day was perfect in every way! The staff and the management was superb with the planning and carrying out of our special day. It’s like going into another world, like Narnia, with beautiful grounds full of interest and a stunning house. There are lovely animals to visit everywhere, it couldn’t be more perfect for our group. And the food was the best we’ve ever had at a wedding! If you’re looking for a small luxury wedding, then this is the place, and when you see what is included which is almost everything that you need the price he’s on beatable.

Stunning
Branxholm Park House is the best location for an intimate wedding in the Scottish Borders. We fell in love with the picture of the ceremony room and decided to make the trip up to Scotland to see it, we were not disappointed! We met with David (one of the property owners) to look around the venue and discuss what we wanted, nearly everything is included with this venue, food, servers on the day, wedding cake, accommodation for up to 16 adults, floral decorations, plus extra amenities. The venue was perfect for us and November couldn't come fast enough. We spent 4 days and 3 nights at Branxholm with close family and had a total of 30 guests on the wedding day. Everything went perfectly, Deb (property owner) was running things behind the scenes and David was master of ceremonies. From the friendly staff to the beautifully decorated rooms, Branxholm Park House is a stunning wedding venue that i would recommend to anyone!
