Description

We believe that what we offer at Treberfydd is truly special: exclusive use of our historic home in a stunning country setting, and the flexibility to organise your wedding however you wish. Located in the Brecon Beacons National Park, we overlook Llangorse lake, with breathtaking views across to the Black Mountains, and 10 acres of peaceful gardens: ideal for wedding photographs. Our Victorian, Grade I-listed house is licensed for wedding ceremonies, so you can choose to be married in the billiards room or drawing room; alternatively, St Gastyn’s, an ancient church on the shores of the lake, is a short walk away. Treberfydd itself can sleep up to 10 on a B&B basis, and we have four self-catering properties nearby on the estate: the Barn (sleeps 8), the Saddlery Cottage (sleeps 6), Hafod y Llyn Cottage (sleeps 4) and Molly's Wagon (sleeps 2), so we can accommodate a total of 30 people. With use of the house and grounds for the weekend, you are welcome to host a barbecue or drinks in the gardens the night before the wedding, and/or the following day, or we can discuss the options for a small catered meal in the dining room. Because we only host a limited number of weddings per year, each one is different, and how you’d like to celebrate is entirely up to you. Whether it’s a small family gathering or a large-scale event with a marquee, an informal buffet or a three-course meal, you are free to create your own mood, style and schedule. We can recommend caterers and other suppliers, and we don’t charge corkage.

Supplier review - the perfect marquee location!
As a wedding planner I love doing weddings here. The grounds are simply stunning, with the perfect location for your marquee within close distance to the house. The family who run the venue are so easy to work with. Highly recommend! Unlike most marquee locations you even have a wet weather back up for drinks in the main house (which you don't come across very often!)

Enchanted by these beautiful grounds
A truly magical weekend celebrating Madeleine and Sarah. I am enchanted by these beautiful grounds, majestic vistas and the cozy hospitality [at the Saddlery cottage]...I will think fondly of opening the little windows in my bedroom here to let the fresh air in - truly out of a storybook!

The most incredible and relaxed weekend
Treberfydd House was the most beautiful venue we could have chosen for our June wedding. With exclusive use of the venue and on site accommodation from Friday to Sunday, we were able to relax and enjoy a full weekend with our family, friends (and dogs!). The conservatory was the perfect setting for an intimate ceremony whilst our guests could enjoy a Pimm's and some games in the beautiful gardens. We were able to visit Treberfydd as many times as we needed prior to the wedding to plan our perfect day. Sally and David were extremely helpful in providing a list of local and reliable suppliers, from the marquee company to a local farmer. It was the most incredible and relaxed weekend in the Welsh countryside. We can't wait to return for our anniversary and stay in the newly renovated circus wagon!

Nothing was too much trouble
We had our wedding at Treberfydd in October 2021 and we couldn't be more grateful to Sally and her family as it was the most perfect day. Nothing was too much trouble, they were super flexible with the unpredictable Welsh weather and it truly was a beautiful weekend.

A truly glorious weekend
Our hearts are full after a truly glorious weekend of wedding celebrations for Sarah and Madeleine! Treberfydd is a magnificent place - full of deep quiet and joyful mystery. What a backdrop for such a lovely event. We'll never forget this time, and hope it leads to so many happy years together for the girls!

The perfect place for our wedding
Treberfydd was the perfect place for our wedding. Being a private house instead of a full- time wedding venue made it so much more personal and unique for us. Sally and David were very helpful, both on the lead up and on the day itself, providing recommendations of local suppliers for us to contact. Thank you to the Raikes for allowing us to celebrate our special day in your lovely home.
