The Venue was previously a former textile woollen mill, Bowers Mill is surrounded by woodland and a lake sits in front of the mill. We are an exclusive use venue, and hold three Wedding licences. Couples are offered flexibility and choice where they set their ceremony. 'Bowers' originally the carding and weaving room can hold up to 400 guests, however this space can be divided to create a more intimate setting. The Spinning room overlooks the rooftops of Bowers Mill and has capacity for 120 guests, or choose an outdoor ceremony - say "I do" under the pagoda overlooking the lake. We have renovated the space giving a nod to its original mill heritage. Stripped wooden floors, high ceilings, exposed brickwork and wrought iron pillars make it the perfect setting for an industrial chic Wedding. Along with a stylish interior The Venue Bowers Mill is surrounded by breath-taking scenery; a woodland backdrop and a lakeside setting create the perfect background for your outdoor wedding photographs. We are a family owned company and love to host wonderful weddings. We offer a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for you and your guests to enjoy, and our experienced events team work closely with couples to achieve their dream day. The Venue is a reclaimed industrial space originally built in the 1880s. We first fell in love with the Venue when we married here ourselves, celebrating with our family and friends in 2003. In 2016 we became the proud owners of The Venue, which is set within Bowers Mill a former woolen mill. We have restored the space giving a nod to it’s original Yorkshire mill heritage. There are wonderful original features that we have kept within The Venue, including the original floor in the Spinning room.

We booked our wedding on the 6th April 2024. The excellent team (particularly Chloe) made ur day run so smoothly that we both felt so relaxed that everything would be sorted for us when it needed to. The staff were absolutely fantastic and Jade did an exceptional job of coordinating the whole day. The whole day just oozed professionalism and the team could not have made it more perfect. I would 100% recommend The Venue as a wedding venue, the packages suit all budgets, the communication from Nicola, Adam, Janice and Jade throughout was great and the added touches that The Venue offer as part of the package make a huge fifference. The rooms are beautiful and sympathetic to the original mill but still very on trend, but the most impressive part is that you get complete exclusivity on your day at a non-exclusive price. The Venue hosted our wedding on February 15th 2020 and we cannot express how grateful we are to all the staff throughout the whole process. Such a friendly and professional team that were so easy to communicate with. No issue was too big for them and they accommodated everything we asked for to make our day special. The Venue itself.. you only need to see it once to fall in love with it. The Spinning (ceremony) room in particular is the most beautiful place, giving the perfect ambiance for a romantic wedding. As soon as we saw it, we knew we had to have our wedding there. The location is picturesque with photo opportunities inside the venue, but also outside in the beautifully setup location. We would just like to give a special mention to Jade, she is so professional and organised, she made the day run with not one hiccup. She calmed me down when I panicked about storm Dennis – I really cannot express how much it meant to me that she tried to take all my panic away. For the price that you pay, honestly you cannot fault it at all. The all inclusive prices include practically everything you could want to make the space perfect. My magical fairytale

So we booked the venue October 2017, our wedding was in April 2018 which gave us enough time to plan the perfect day. Our initial meeting was with Steve who went through all the fine details of what would be included in the dry hire. It was safe to say we got alot for our money... the venue is an old converted mill situated in a beautiful area of Barkisland! It was a dream come true when i found my gem of a venue. Anyway, we then paid our deposit and were handed over to our wedding planner Miriam it was safe to say she knew what she was doing, she wrote everything down.. from the timing of my grooms arrival to when i wanted to cut my cake. She was very organised whoch really helped my OCD haha. Through out the few months leading up to the wedding Miriam stayed in touch via email and we also met a few times to go through the finer details. My wedding day had dinally arraived, the team at the venue set up a bridal room for me in they new room which had newly been renovates with electric heaters chesterfield sofas and a few tables and chairs for friends and family to sit on (It was perfect).Miriam and the rest of the team went above and beyond to make sure my special day ran accordingly, i would definitely reccomend this beautiful venue for your special day.

Leave the M62 at Junction 24, at the roundabout take the 2nd exit (A629). Follow the road until you come to a set of traffic lights, turn left and at the mini roundabout take the first exit following signs for Stainland Road B6114. At the 2nd set of traffic lights turn right onto Saddleworth Road (B6114), after 1.3 miles turn left onto Branch Road, after 0.5 miles turn left into Bowers Mill.
