This spectacular former church and elegant reception bar create an exquisite destination in which to celebrate your love. The chapel is soaked in history and retains all its original features, the scallop shelled oak pulpit, balcony and ornate Victorian stained glass windows all contribute to creating this special sense of place. This beautifully restored Historic Wesleyan Chapel is the oldest in Scotland and dates back to 1764. The venue provides the truly unique experience of getting married and then celebrating in an atmospheric and historic space lit by magnificent stained glass windows. Beautiful banqueting tables can seat up to 80 for dining and a further 40 guests can join the evening celebrations. Our elegant reception lounge has a fully stocked bar. Whatever your preference, we will work with you to source the best produce to meet all your catering needs. From fine dining, buffets, canapes, cakes, cheese boards to wine and spirits, East Lothian provides some of the best produce around. You will be spoilt for choice when we help you to find the best of Scottish Cuisine. Every event at the Harbour Chapel is unique and we will work with you to create your own custom-made package to meet your personal tastes, needs and requirements. The interior of the building and furnishings create a real sense of warmth and atmosphere and we offer to provide you with as much as possible to allow you to truly relax and enjoy your event or celebration.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

As the oldest Wesleyan Chapel in Scotland it dates back to 1764. John Wesley preached here on 21 occasions and in 1770 he wrote: “In the evening I preached at the new house at Dunbar, the cheerfullest in all the Kingdom”

What’s your favourite canapé?

We love good food so we love them all!

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

We serve a fantastic mac 'n cheese amongst other things, it goes down a storm!

What is your venue's most unique feature?

Our historic chapel with the magnificent stained glass windows originating for St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

Everything from this beautiful space that we have preserved, reused and created. History is important and so are our guests, that is why we also want to create special memories for you that will genuinely last forever.
