Fittingly deserved as the Hampton Court of the North, this estate was the birthplace of Lord Darnley, husband of Mary, Queen of Scots. With a splendour of event spaces to choose from, Temple Newsam House and Estate welcome couples to add to its history. We are licensed to hold weddings and civil partnership ceremonies in three stunning rooms of the house; the Great Hall, the Dining Room and the Still Room. Your wedding party will gain exclusive access to the central courtyard and grand entrance of the house, in addition to the South Terrace with views over the park. This stunning location in the heart of Yorkshire filled with unique historical features provides the perfect backdrop for photo opportunities to treasure forever. This Tudor-Jacobean venue has three indoor event spaces to choose from. The Still Room is ideal for quaint ceremonies with close friends and family. Once you've tied the knot, you can experience a one-of-a-kind photoshoot on the South Terrace that overlooks the park. Banquets can follow in The Dining Room before unforgettable receptions take place in The Great Hall. This space has ample space for seated guests, a large dance floor and live entertainment such as a DJ. During the summer months, you and your loved one can make the most of the outside grounds and central courtyard. Here, you can place marquees for banquets as well as receptions.
