Incredible venue and hosts!
Found Pengersick when we were looking for a small venue and fell in love instantly. The castle is pristine and the gardens are Tudor through and through! Jay and Martyn who run the place are the most amazing people too - Jay can chat for hours about the history of the castle, the horticultural choices made etc and Martyn cooks the best breakfasts we’ve had! Although COVID robbed us of our wedding ceremony in the castle, we took our honeymoon here and they suggested a mini wedding photo shoot which we happily agreed on. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough!

We highly recommend getting married or visiting Pengersick.
Pengersick Castle is a truly fantastic wedding venue. We had the most wonderful day celebrating in December 2020! Pengersick Castle has charm, character and a variety of unique spaces to choose from for the ceremony, reception and photos! It's also a great location with mature gardens and in close reach of the beach! Jay and the team were warming and went above and beyond to make our day everything we wanted it to be! We highly recommend getting married or visiting Pengersick. We cant wait to return.

Describe the best wedding that happened at Pengersick Castle?

All our weddings are the best because a wedding is all about recognising and celebrating the love two people have for one another as they start a new life journey together. Not forgetting the serious side of getting married, the love, fun, laughter and smiles as couples celebrate their special day here at Pengersick Castle is priceless.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Don't panic. Take each stage step by step - this is your special day. Communicate. We find our couples start by choosing the venue (and of course the date) before doing anything else. At Pengersick Castle we will happily hold your chosen date whilst you contact the Registrars. Once you can confirm the Registrars can attend on your chosen day you can then build around that to create something really special. There is a great range of highly professional and dedicated suppliers to choose from out there and as we are not tied to any particular one we are happy to work with anyone you may wish to choose. This helps to make putting everything together a little easier for you if one particular supplier can't make your date. A wedding planner can help you bring everything and everyone together but we do not insist that you use one. What we do ask though, is that you produce a time line as to how you want your day to run - thus ensuring everyone knows who is doing what and when.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

We love seeing all those little personal touches that makes this YOUR special day. We've seen wedding cakes decorated with Lego figures for the Lego fans out there. Then there have been weddings where the couples four legged friends have been ring bearers or best dog(s) or dog of honour suitably attired in matching bow ties. We've seen fabulous flowers, amazing food and vintage cars. We had one 'Mother of The Bride" who made all their bunting, table runners and napkins. Being a castle, cake cutting has often just had to be with a giant broad-sword, the stuff of Arthurian legends. Early evening weddings with lots of candles - the fairy-tale castle dream. We currently have a wedding in the planning stages that may be said in Cornish. And many more - in fact too many to have one favourite.

Describe Pengersick Castle in 5 adjectives

Magical. Unique. Dreamy. Romantic. Exclusive.

Where’s the best photo spot at Pengersick Castle?

Pengersick Castle, and its stunning gardens and grounds is a photographer's delight. At every turn there is something to delight the eye and camera. From the top of our battlements (yes you can go onto our battlements) to some hidden, secret corner of the garden or our woodland there are so many photo opportunities to capture those special moments forever. Not only that, but being just 500m away from the beach a beach walk with your photographer is a real must.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at Pengersick Castle?

Pengersick Castle is a celebrity in its own right - it has appeared in films and TV shows. We do believe in discretion and integrity so it would be wrong to name names - we welcome, and give our very best to everyone.

What’s your favourite canapé?

Too many to choose from - I love to be delighted and surprised by new combinations of textures and flavours - little bursts of fun. My sense of humour wants to say cheese and pineapple on cocktail sticks - artistically stuck into a potato covered in foil to look like a hedgehog!

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

Marshmallows. Marmite on Toast (you either love it or hate it). Turkish delight. Jaffa cakes

What is Pengersick Castle most unique feature?

A romantic, hidden little castle.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

There are lots of parts of our business we are proud of. From the fabulous reviews and lovely kind words our couples leave in our many reviews and the gorgeous 'thank you' cards we receive, to our totally dedicated team of staff and volunteers. We are proud to have the privilege to create something uniquely special that can be enjoyed by everyone yet at the same time ensures the future of this amazing little piece of history.
