As Otterburn Castle now offers our renewed wedding packages, and we are pleased to offer modern luxury and heritage combined in a breathtaking destination. This is a new volume in our vast history which aims to redefine every expectation of quality and hospitality.
Nestled on 32 acres near the dramatic landscapes of Northumberland, this historic castle dating back to 1086 offers a setting for couples seeking an unforgettable English wedding. With its centuries-old stone walls, elegant interiors, 17 guest rooms, and sweeping gardens, the estate exudes timeless romance and sophistication.
Supplier selections & In-House offerings:
To welcome your personal stylings, we allow outside licensed suppliers for catering, decoration, celebrants, planners, additional furniture rentals, and more. We provide an experience which makes it easily accessible in planning your wedding to your exact preferences. We offer in-house packages for bar, and our greatly experienced chef is also available to cater your wedding breakfast and evening reception if desired. The quality of menu stylings and service are top-tier to ensure you have a worry-free wedding day.
Photography locations across the property feel endless across the castle grounds. We boast fairytale front gardens and oak paneled interiors, which both provide scenes for all styles. At special request, we are able to arrange for horses from our neighboring property to be available for your portraits.
Private Wedding Wing & Licensed ceremony locations:
Positioned in a private wing of the castle, the Bridal Suite and Library Suite grant you intimate access to the grounds. In two of our most historic and photo-ready rooms, these suites provide you a haven of rest and relaxation a few steps from the events of the day.
We have these licensed ceremony sites--
Each with their own features to provide a radiant altar, you have customised options at each to create your perfect setting to welcome guests to celebrate.
All-Inclusive Elopements & Vow Renewal Packages starting at £2950
Bring a little bit of Las Vegas to the Northumberland countryside! Our all-inclusive tiers range from £2950 - £5450 with VAT included.
We offer completely curated experiences with accommodation, a romantic dinner, flowers, and photography, all you have to say is, "Meet me at the castle" and we take care of the rest.
A personal favorite is the front lawn to show the expanse of the castle! (But our hush-hush location is the hidden pond.) Or... ask us about the horses on property to bring in a bit of the unexpected to your day!
With all our many years of history, we understand that tradition has its place, but we adore pushing the boundaries to bring luxury, modern essence, and personal taste to the gorgeous landscape of the Northumberland property.
YES! Think Las Vegas-style elopements, cheeky getaways, and vow renewals offered anywhere on our 32 acres to give the idea that you're (almost) running away to Scotland! We are 17 miles away from the borderline.
Our hotel bar is vibrant and full of life to welcome your guests to Otterburn Castle or gather for a chat during your wedding weekend. Walking trails along the property which take you along the River Rede brings a thriving natural scene steps away.
Our in-house catering team at Otterburn Castle works closely with couples to design bespoke menus including canapés, coursed wedding breakfast, and relaxed (or unique!) evening buffets. Since we welcome all your dreams and desires, an outside insured catering company is more than welcome!
Otterburn Castle features 17 individually styled en-suite bedrooms.
Let us list a few items-- fish along our share of the River Rede, view the Northern Lights outside the castle door or at the Dark Sky Observatory, visit the coastline, head into the bustling centre of Newcastle, trek through Northumberland National Park, head over to Kielder Forest, examine Roman ruins... should we go on?
Elopements will welcome as few as 2, and we can welcome over 300 guests across the Front Lawn.
As any good property in England will tell you, we have our fair share of ghost stories over the 900-year history. William the Conquerer gifted this property to his cousin in 1086, and much later, Sir Walter Scott visited to gather inspiration for his famous work, Rokeby. We've had writers, photographers, opera singers, and more stay on the property!
We're ready to redefine weddings and show your guests a new side to the North East!
