Located in the tranquil countryside near Corbridge in the Tyne Valley, Healey Barn offers beautiful, open views south across the surrounding landscape. Yet despite its rural location, the barn is less than 20 miles from the centre of Newcastle.
The Healey Barn buildings were converted by Cripps & Co in 2015 to create a luxury wedding venue. Retaining the charm and history of the original building, the barn works as well in the summer, with doors opening out onto a sunny courtyard, as it does in winter, with a large stone fireplace and underfloor heating.
Lit by over 100 flickering candles and the canopy of fairy lights woven into its oak ceiling, the Long Barn is the ideal setting for a ceremony. The barn can be transformed into a drinks reception and dance floor after the ceremony. Underfloor heating and a roaring fire at one end means the barn is comfortable all year round. The Long Barn can accommodate 140 guests for a ceremony and up to 200 evening guests for drinks and dancing.
With sweeping views over the Northumbrian landscape on one side and out into the courtyard, with its glow of twinkling lights, fire pits and lanterns, on the other, the Oak Room can accommodate 140 guests seated to dine.
Sheltered from the wind by barn buildings on all sides, our sun-filled courtyard provides a large additional space for post-ceremony drinks and an excellent location for wedding photographs. The courtyard is transformed at night with lanterns, fire pits, and fairy-lit trees.
Our wedding feasts receive as many compliments as the barn itself. We buy the best, cook it simply and serve it generously. Food is flame-cooked from fresh ingredients on a huge BBQ and French rotisseries in full view of our guests. Menus are designed collaboratively with our in-house chefs.
Luxurious overnight accommodation for up to 34 guests is available at Healey Hall. The wedding team at Healey Barn are on hand to help organise everything from the big ideas to the last minute details.

Travel Notes
From Newcastle; head out on the A69 towards Hexham. Before reaching Hexham, and just after a turning towards Newton, take the first exit on the large roundabout onto the A68. At the next roundabout, take the second exit (straight over the roundabout). You will drive up a slight hill which bears to the left, and when you reach the top of the hill you will see the first exit to Healey – however, keep on going until you see the second turning to Healey shortly after. This road is narrow, but there are plenty of passing places. Healey Barn is just off this road on your left, you will see the sign.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs
Describe the best wedding that happened at Healey Barn - Cripps & Co?
The best? Impossible! Our venue is such a blank canvas that every wedding is unique, personal, fun and we have loved them all!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Ask questions! We are always around to answer the quickest of questions, the longest chain of questions, the amazingly bizarre questions, and the most obvious, mundane or confusing questions - but we know that every question answered reassures the couple immensely; so never be afraid to ask, ask, ask away!
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
We love the 'find your face to find your place' seating plan - the couples must take ages gathering photos of all the guests, and it reminds the guests of times spent with the happy couple.
Describe Healey Barn - Cripps & Co in 5 adjectives
Relaxed. Informal. Rustic. Rural. Fun!
Where’s the best photo spot at Healey Barn - Cripps & Co?
Overlooking the rolling Northumberland countryside on our stunning lawn, under our canopy of Mulberry trees.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at Healey Barn - Cripps & Co?
That would be telling!
What’s your favourite canapé?
You decide...http://www.crippshealey.com/canapes-menu/ ! They are all delicious!
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
We love cheese and ham boards, but our favourite dance-floor snack is our Roasted 4-day marinated pork roll & apple sauce.
What is Healey Barn - Cripps & Co most unique feature?
The buildings - they are old farm buildings, and are just stunning. We especially love The Long Barn; used for civil ceremonies and dancing in the evening, has spectacular oak beams, candelabras, fairy lights and stone fireplace creating an enchanting and romantic atmosphere.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
Our food! Our formula is “Buy the best, cook it simply, serve it generously”. We like to make our food dramatic as well as delicious, so there’s an 8-spit rotisserie visible through a glass screen from the Dining Room, and large mobile BBQ which can be moved in and out of sight as appropriate. Our food is served 'feast-style' on boards and in bowls to the centre of the table for guests to just dig into! Yum!
