Steeped in history with stunning medieval architecture and ruins, and picturesque grounds, Norton Priory is a beautiful. historic and unique wedding reception venue in Runcorn, Cheshire Our maximum seating capacity within the Medieval Undercroft for your atmospheric ceremony is 100 guests. The light and airy Atrium space can host up to 110 guests for your wedding breakfast, this can be increased to 150+ guests in the evening. Our approach to your big day brings flexibility and the opportunity to make your wedding, your way. As a venue in which to celebrate your special day, Norton Priory offers an unforgettable and magical backdrop. The site looks beautiful during the day, but for evening receptions the internal spaces of the museum take on an even more magical atmosphere as the evening light fades, and candle light dances in the undercroft. Wedding parties have access to stunning outdoor backdrops for photographs to remember, which include the excavated archaeological ruins of the medieval monastic complex and acres of woodland. Norton Priory Museum & Gardens is proud to work in partnership with the award-winning Olive Tree Catering, who will be offering you and your guests a choice of mouth-watering food options and tantalising drinks packages. Coming in to view the venue is brilliant for being able to visualise how your big day will go. Pictures are fantastic, but they can't compare to standing on the spot you'll say "I do", and realising you've found your dream location!

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

For a groom who was named Colin, they used Colin the Caterpillar cakes for the wedding cake.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

Amongst the Medieval Priory ruins, we have a beautiful little bridge that is amazing for photographs.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

Not yet, but we consider all our brides and grooms to be celebrities for their day!

What’s your favourite canapé?

We can't possibly pick a favourite there are far too many to choose from!

Although that being said, Olive Tree's vegan and gluten free canapes are always incredibly tempting to our team.

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

There is nothing like a few moments of calm serenity on the ruins as you watch your guests dancing the night away in our Medieval Undercroft.

The Medieval Undercroft and Georgian Wine Cellar
