A magical day from start to finish!

What a stunning venue, it created the perfect backdrop for the day and takes such little decoration because it is so stunning as it is. The service was wonderful, the food was phenomenal and guests couldn't stop talking about how perfect the day was. The day ran smoothly and this was solely down to Emma the co-ordinator, I didn't have to stress or think about anything on the day and Emma went above on beyond from planning right up until after the wedding. I would highly recommend.

We had the most fabulous day

From the outset Emma’s communication was strong & she engaged well with us. She kept us up to date on matters to be finalised in a timely & enjoyable manner. Emma also provided useful suggestions for additional suppliers but we felt under no obligation to proceed with those. It was great to receive some additional options to consider On the day she provided a very well organised, slick wedding ceremony through to wedding breakfast & evening reception The guests have all advised that it felt very chilled & relaxed & that’s down to Emma & the team making sure the day ran smoothly We provided all the table decorations & lanterns & Emma & the team set them up beautifully which I appreciate would be additional work for the team. The room was gorg & added to the ambiance of the event We had the best day.

A magical day

Our wedding day at the Ghillie-Dhu was just perfect. The venue is spectacular and seeing the room in a "ceremony configuration" was breathtaking. All was seamless. The location is ideal: it can difficultly be more central, and we just had to step out for fabulous views over the Castle. Emma Clouston was the perfect event manager, linking with all providers (flowers, cake), band and photographer beforehand and making sure everything was in place and everyone knew where they had to be at the right time. Communication with Emma was exceptional over the months that led to the event. The food, staff and entertainment were superb. It was a magical day, and all the guests keep talking about how much they loved it! We are so glad we had our wedding at the Ghillie-Dhu, and that Emma managed our event. It was perfect. Thank you so much!

A venue to remember - an unforgettable wedding

We had a perfect day in the beautiful setting of the Ghillie Dhu. It is a stunning venue and all of our guests commented on how spectacular it looked. Our wedding coordinator, Emma, was extremely thorough and made sure everything ran smoothly - this helped to make the day really enjoyable for us. The Ghillie Dhu include many things in their package that other venues often don’t, such as table decorations and stationery. We loved having our wedding at such an iconic Edinburgh landmark and will enjoy going back in to remember the day in the future. Definitely would recommend this venue for a stress free wedding with the wow factor.

Everything we'd ever dreamt of and more

3 weeks on and we are still buzzing!!!! I'm Scottish and my husband is Greek, we live in Rhodes but wanted to come back to Scotland for the wedding. Having never been to the Ghillie Dhu we fell in love with the pictures online and my parents went to look at it for us! Wow! They loved it too so we booked straight away! Our jobs mean didn't have a lot of spare time for planning but Emma took care of everything and was amazing from start to finish. Very knowledgeable, informative, quick to respond to emails. We knew we were in great hands. On the week of the wedding we arrived in Edinburgh and saw the venue in person for the first time. I wanted to cry, it was even more beautiful in real life. The dark dramatic room makes it so romantic especially for our Christmas wedding (21.12.23). On the wedding day everything was set up as I'd asked and ran flawlessly. The ceremony then the drinks reception/photo shoot. The room upstairs was turned around beautifully and in some ways it was hard to believe it was the same room we'd just had the ceremony in. The food service ran smoothly and the meals were lovely. Lots of good feedback from guests on their meals. We also had Ian the Piper. He was brilliant and such a lovely man aswel. So smiley and welcoming as our guests arrived. In the evening I'd arranged 3 different bands including the Brave Ceilidh Band which you can book via Emma, they were great. Also a shout out to the technician who did an amazing job with the flow of music and entertainment on the evening. Thank you 😊 looking back at the videos I saw just how much of a great job he did with both sound and lightning. Overall a 5* star experience for us and I just wish we could do it all over again If you're thinking of booking the Ghillie Dhu 100% do it! You will not be disappointed ❤️

Amazing wedding day!

Our wedding celebration at Ghillie Dhu was truly amazing! The venue is stunning with traditional features, high ceilings, beautiful organ, lots of candles and an exquisite staircase! The magical atmosphere, especially during Christmas with its festive decorations, added to the overall charm. We loved it, as did our guests who couldn't stop complimenting it. The location in Edinburgh is so central, making it convenient for those travelling from various places. It is also very close to Edinburgh castle, providing a picturesque backdrop for capturing the best and most memorable wedding photographs! Despite us being based in Australia, Emma (our wedding coordinator) made the wedding planning process stress-free and seamless. Through a few Zoom calls and numerous emails, she played a crucial role in ensuring everything ran smoothly. We are grateful for all her help and look forward to returning to Scotland to enjoy a drink at Ghillie Dhu on our next visit. Such a remarkably special day and memories for a lifetime.
