Achnagairn Castle has just been named the Best Wedding Venue in the UK by the prestigious Harper’s Bazaar Magazine!
At Achnagairn, our mantra is “Escape the ordinary” – we believe that every wedding is unique, and each should be extraordinary.
Situated 7 miles from Inverness, Achnagairn Castle is a magical venue. The jewel in its crown is the magnificent vaulted ballroom – a fairytale location for you to tie the knot, and hold a wedding banquet for up to 170 people. The space is truly breathtaking, and you are completely free to make it your own!
Achnagairn Castle runs as an exclusive use venue, meaning that for the duration of your stay, the Castle is yours and yours alone – from the ballroom, to the gracious reception rooms and 24 individually designed bedrooms. Wedding parties hire the Castle for a minimum stay of 2 nights, so that it isn’t all over in a flash, but rather you can have all your friends and family around you for the most special days of your life. The castle can sleep up to 55 in its 24 bedrooms, but Achnagairn Estate also has a further seven large luxury Mini Manors, only 200m from the castle, meaning that you can have up to 130 people to stay with you on the estate!

Our Dream Wedding Venue ♥️🏰🏴
From the moment we looked at Achnagairn online to visiting in person for the first time we fell in love with the venue. 15 mins outside Inverness in the beautiful Scottish Highlands. The grounds are overwhelmingly beautiful and well kept. The castle itself can sleep all of your bridal party plus more with stunning individually decorated rooms. Even more guests can stay onsight in the modern mini manors. We loved having another 50-60 friends staying in houses behind the castle. From booking our venue to our special weekend I can’t thank all of the Achnagairn staff enough. Nicola you were a true life saviour for us and helped us through never ending questions. Thank you for everything you did in the build up and on the day. I couldn’t recommend Achnagairn anymore as a wedding venue. The ball room is so unique and grand we loved decorating it. It’s so rare to find a castle where you can actually host everyone inside rather than outside in marquees/ tents. We loved it! Out of this world!
We stayed for 2 nights for a family wedding. Our room was the “Nursery” & it was simply wonderful. The setting for this venue is quite stunning and the whole place has a very comfortable vibe. The staff I met were very helpful, the man who served breakfast was especially helpful - so thank you! - our rooms were clean to a excellent service with ample towels etc. If this was open to the public in a hotel capacity we would definitely return!

Every one of our bedrooms at Achnagairn has its own name and theme - one of the most fun parts of planning a wedding with us is choosing who should go where! What is Achnagairn Castle most unique feature?
The Ballroom! The only one of its kind in the Highlands of Scotland, the ballroom was built in 1912 for the then owner's daughter's 21st birthday. Today, it is a magical place to tie the knot, or hold your wedding banquet!
What part of your business are you most proud of?
We love seeing the amazing comments left in our guest book after a wedding. They put a huge smile on our faces seeing everyone from the couple themselves, through to parents, friends and family saying that they just could not have imagined a better venue!
