- TThe MacDonalds05/11/2025The most magical day by the most magical teamThe most magical day by the most magical teamThe team at Dornoch Station Hotel are truly special. They made planning our wedding so easy and the day could not have gone smoother. We fell in love with the venue in an instant (it's stunning!) and after dining at the Golden Gorse restaurant, we were sold -- but what really sealed the deal for us was their dog-friendly policy: our english bulldog was able to stay in the hotel with us, attend the ceremony, and even attend the dance. It made the wedding day that much more special. They were flexible in combining our Canadian traditions with Scottish ones (even serving Poutine at the late night buffet!) and made menu and vendor/supplier suggestions based on our tastes and style. We were able to completely let go on the wedding day and trust that the team had everything in hand. The timing of the day was not rushed or lagging and the team was able to anticipate and solve any issues before we even noticed them. The hotel team also warmly welcomed our vendors and worked with them to ensure they had everything they needed. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable and fairly priced -- amazing water pressure in the showers! (more important than you'd think!) The location is perfect: close enough to the beach to get that lovely sea air without sand everywhere, and just a quick walk to the town centre. I cannot recommend Dornoch Station Hotel enough. I can't wait to go back for a wee getaway! The team at Dornoch Station Hotel are truly special. They made planning our wedding so easy and the day could not have gone smoother. Location is great - very quiet yet walking distance to town, walking trails, and golf. The view of the Royal Dornoch course and the sea was fantastic. We did not eat in the restaurant, but bar menu was quite good. We really enjoyed the public spaces - room to socialize or find a quiet nook to read.
