Tutbury Castle is located in the heart of Staffordshire, with a commanding view overlooking the river Dove and has been delivering a 5* service to couples over the past 12 years. Our dedicated wedding team will help you make your dream castle wedding come true. We have various packages available including a traditional all-inclusive plan for a formal Wedding Breakfast but if you are looking for something a little different with an air of history we also offer Hog Roasts and Tudor Banquets. For many, a flower strewn afternoon tea is the fashionable choice or perhaps a light buffet for a lighter budget . We have had some wonderfully intimate weddings just for two with staff from the castle standing as witnesses followed by a romantic meal in the beautiful Great Hall by candlight. The room which is used for ceremonies, is as you would expect steeped in history, and perfect for intimate ceremonies and receptions. Our beautiful chandelier lit marquee (which is fully licenced for weddings) can be dressed for a civil ceremony, seating up to120 guests and then it can be transformed into a lavish reception area. Meanwhile for those wishing to celebrate lives together, married or unmarried we offer a handfasting ceremony in or out of doors under the stars or sun where you can follow the old traditions of tying the knot and jumping the broomstick. It is not legally binding but it is binding in love and so appropriate in the setting of the castle. Some of our couples have celebrated golden or silver weddings with a Handfasting and others had it as part of their day after a civil ceremony. Whatever you choose, you will be very welcome through the great doors of Tutbury Castle.
