Bamboo Sky is a beautifully different countryside wedding venue in the Cambridgeshire village of Bourn. Created by owner Shaina and named after her twin daughters, it is a heartfelt, independent venue where every wedding is genuinely personal.
Hidden behind our award-winning Thai restaurant, you’ll discover a secluded country garden beneath a magnificent sweeping willow tree, seven private dining domes, a wild meadow, botanical lounge bar and heated terrace.
From intimate gatherings to exclusive celebrations, Bamboo Sky offers a relaxed wedding day shaped around you. Think a celebrant-led blessing beneath the willow, cocktails in the garden, generous Thai feasting around long tables in the meadow and dancing beneath the stars.
By day, the venue feels green, relaxed and wonderfully secluded. As dusk falls, the willow, garden and domes come alive with colour, fairy lights and festoons, creating a magical atmosphere unlike anywhere else.

Bamboo Sky is an absolute hidden gem, and everything about our experience was simply wonderful. The garden is absolutely stunning, and the magnificent willow tree made the most beautiful backdrop for our special day. The food was fantastic, the setting was breathtaking, and the whole experience was worth every penny. What makes Bamboo Sky different from a traditional wedding venue?
We offer relaxed, intimate and unconventional weddings centred around our hidden garden, giant willow tree, private dining domes and award-winning Thai food. Our weddings are designed to feel personal rather than formulaic.
How many guests can Bamboo Sky accommodate?
We can accommodate around 80 guests for a seated wedding feast, with exclusive celebrations for up to 120 guests depending on the plans for your day.
What spaces are available for our wedding?
Our wedding spaces include the hidden garden and willow tree, wild meadow, seven private dining domes, restaurant and other characterful indoor and outdoor spaces.
What happens if the weather changes?
There is a Plan B whatever the weather. Up to 50 guests can dine across our seven private domes, while the restaurant provides an indoor option for larger seated celebrations.
What food do you offer for weddings?
Food is at the heart of our weddings. We offer Thai wedding menus ranging from canapés, colourful bowls and relaxed buffets to seated wedding breakfasts, tailored around your tastes and the style of your day.
What drinks are available?
Drinks packages can include fizz, wines, beers, cocktails and mocktails, with a fully stocked bar available throughout your celebration.
Can we have exclusive use of Bamboo Sky?
Yes. Smaller weddings can have private or part-exclusive use, while larger celebrations can make Bamboo Sky entirely their own.
Who helps us plan our wedding?
Shaina personally meets every couple and helps plan the timings, layout, food, drinks, styling and flow of the day. The team can also recommend trusted local wedding suppliers.
Is Bamboo Sky pet-friendly?
Yes. Bamboo Sky is pet-friendly, so four-legged family members can be part of your celebration too.
Is there parking and accessible facilities?
Yes. Bamboo Sky offers car parking and accessible facilities for guests.
