An exclusive-use barn wedding venue on an 18th-century family farm in Bilbrough, North Yorkshire. 20 minutes from York, 35 from Leeds, close to Tadcaster and the A64. Rustic barns, restored with a contemporary edge.
Oliver and Laura Robinson married here in 2014, then turned the family farm into an award-winning Yorkshire wedding venue. Three generations of Robinsons have married on this spot. They've built it themselves - so they know the details that matter.
Five spaces, one seamless day
- The Stables Bar - welcome drinks. Bifolds open to the Courtyard in summer; wood-burner and underfloor heating in winter.
- The Ceremony Barn - fully licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships. A former threshing barn: exposed brick, vaulted ceiling, wooden trusses, floor-to-ceiling fairy lights.
- The Courtyard - south-facing, for drinks and canapés. Contemporary design, with a stunning central water feature, plenty of seating, and a 9m × 5m louvred pergola keeps you covered whatever the weather.
- The Grain Shed - wedding breakfast and evening party. White-washed timber, a fairy-lit fabric ceiling, plus bar, stage and dance floor.
- The Cow Stalls & Tack Room - quirky lounge spaces to sit, drink and mingle.

It is a beautiful, rustic, authentic place, tonnes and tonnes of gorgeous fairy lights to enhance it but has also kept its natural charm with lots of original features. Even on a chilly, windy spring day, it was warm and cosy which was exactly the vibe we wanted! From day one, the communication from Oliver and Sharon was fantastic. They made us feel like the only engaged couple on the planet! They went out of their way to accommodate what we asked for, answered questions promptly and were so warm and professional as well. We cannot thank them and all the staff enough for being a part of our special day!We had our Spring wedding at The Normans and are so glad we picked this venue. Oliver and Sharon were on hand with any queries we had, always quick at responding and being there whenever we needed them. The venue itself is one of the most beautiful venues I have ever seen! Modern with rustic touches. Every single detail is covered no matter how big or small. We hired the cottage for the evening before and the evening of the wedding - the setup is absolutely perfect for the bridal party to get ready, from hooks to hang dresses to 3 separate stations for make up artists and hair dressers to work without getting in each others way. Hog & Apple who are the in-house caterers for the venue are simply AMAZING! Their attention to detail is unmatched, everyone who attended said it was the best wedding breakfast they had ever had. Oliver kept the day running like clockwork and absolutely everything ran perfectly. If you are thinking of using The Norman’s as a wedding venue, don't think twice. It was the most incredible day of our lives and everyone had the best day ever. The Cottage has two bedrooms and sleeps up to four adults. The property is generally used by bride and bridesmaids on the night before the wedding, and then the newlyweds on the wedding night.
The Granary has three bedrooms, sleeps up to six adults, and is geared towards the couple’s family and close friends.
