Staff are always polite, professional and kind
Ive been photographing weddings at Raven Hall for 16 years and it remains my favourite venue to visit. From the friendliest staff to the unrivalled views across the bay, from the delicious food to the elegant George III suite, it is without question the leading wedding venue on the Yorkshire coast. Staff are always polite, professional and kind, I have seen countless times that nothing is too much trouble - weddings at Raven Hall always run smoothly because of this and many of my couples comment on the staff, particularly Gemma and Ben. The views across the bay are magnificent especially on perfect summer days and for the sunsets. As well as photographing weddings at Raven Hall, I’ve visited many times for family meals and stayed overnight on several occasions and our experience has always been excellent: delicious food and the first class accommodation. I whole-heartedly recommend Raven Hall and urge any couples looking to get married to check out this outstanding venue.

They did everything they could to make the day the best they could for us
Planning a wedding is a stressful experience at any time but with the added complications of organising a wedding through the covid crisis made it even more of a stressful experience. In our situation our main focus was our family been together as due to my dad having a deteriorating illness it was extremely important to us for him to be with us and for him to see the family and create positive memories spending quality time with the family. When the country was put into lockdown and all the businesses were closed we just felt lost and the messages asking us if the wedding going ahead was extremely difficult to receive as we just didn’t know as the information filtering through was just so vague. It was a difficult time for me as my husband works away so it all fell to me which made me feel very isolated and not having any support from friends or family due to the lockdown. It was extremely exhausting literally living on a day by day basis and with rules and regulations changing so regularly and the effects on literally everything:- - When could I get my dress and when can I get a fitting will it be done in time and the fact the shop I got my dress from was a hundred miles away didn’t help - What about seating plans for the ceremony and reception ( I did endless variations of these as rules changed ) - Will the family get here as they had different restrictions with them living in Scotland we literally didn’t know until two days before - What can the hotel do and what about decorations - what about hair and make up, we didn’t have make up but thankfully our makeup lady Jess Pacey was an absolute star and did a FaceTime lesson followed by an idiots guide on how to apply your face !! We went with the theory of “it is what it is” we had to just try and stay positive it was going to happen and kept our focus on the priority of the day of been with the family. We did message all of our guests before the wedding and explained about the regulations and that obviously due to the circumstances we couldn’t have a lot of the things we wanted and we were trying to do the best we could within the regulations and it was down to us all to make the day a special one for us all to enjoy. One of the hardest things for me personally was normally on the run upto a wedding it is a time to be celebrated and talked about but I personally felt really guilty that our wedding was going ahead but other friends weddings had not been able to proceed and not wanting to upset those people we just didn’t talk about it The only issue we had on the day was unfortunately there was an unexpected problem with our ceremony numbers due to the change of regulations and unfortunately the photographer that should have been took out of the ceremony as previously agreed with the photographer if it was necessary wasn’t taken out but instead one of my best friends came out. It was a very difficult decision that had to be made under pressure but did obviously have an effect on the day as I wasn’t made aware until it was too late. On our day we were very fortunate that all the staff at Raven Hall had been extremely helpful and supportive and went over and above to help us and really looked after our family members especially the ones that have health issues. They did everything they could to make the day the best they could for us in the circumstances for which we will be forever grateful

Could not have asked for a better wedding venue
We had the most perfect wedding at Raven Hall and we cannot get over how helpful the staff and the whole Raven Hall team were, the food was simply superb, we’ve had many guests compliment the food and the venue itself. I haven’t heard a single complaint. All of the staff were extremely accommodating to our needs and requests. Even the days after our wedding the staff were so helpful asking how our day was and attending to our needs (we stayed a few extra nights after) Gemma and Ben could not do enough for us and any question we had they came back to us pretty quickly. On the wedding day Ben was incredible ensuring everyone was on time and there were no hiccups! Raven Hall will always be a huge part of our life especially after visiting here for the 11 years that we’ve been together and now getting married here.

Thank you
Thank you to all the staff at Raven Hall for making our daughter's wedding day extra special. Sarah and Darren White had the most amazing day and nothing was too much trouble for the staff at Raven hall. We can not thank you enough and would recommend you to other people. Special thanks to Ben Lambert for his very professional approach to all aspects of the wedding and his ability to keep cram a panicky mother of the bride.
