- Matara is a Wedding venue in The Cotswolds that hosts tailored wedding celebrations that reflect the personal meaning of union for the couple.
- With 6 licensed ceremony areas, 3 outdoor locations and 3 indoors, couples are offered an unparalleled opportunity to make their day truly unique. A strict one wedding per day policy assures a feeling of exclusivity and gives everyone an opportunity to truly relax and enjoy the day.
- With on location accommodation available for up to 28 people, including the honeymoon lodge, the large Regency home, and converted haylofts, Matara welcomes the wedding party to stay a while and make a weekend or perhaps a week of the big day.
- Our menus are made up of seasonal dishes freshly prepared by our in-house Chef. He is also delighted to create a bespoke wedding breakfast, catering to the wildest of imaginations. Meanwhile our in-house wedding coordinators are on hand to help couples prepare and organize their day from the moment they book.

The whole day was magical.
The whole day was magical! Our wedding planner Rebecca was sensational. The venue, the food and the liasing made planning our wedding 3 times due to postponing as easy as possible!!!! Will recommend till I’m no longer here, will be back to visit and am thankful from the bottom of my heart to have found the Matara centre. I got shown the venue by a client who also got married there so it’s a double thumbs up for me 👍🏼👍🏼 You wouldn’t be disappointed and it really is a special place for a wedding! Thank you!

Its a secluded gem!
We found Matara 2 years prior to our September 2020 wedding and fell in love in an instant, it feel like you're in a different world being there. From day 1 the staff were always so helpful and friendly, and when it came to covid they kept us in the loop even before we had chance to question any changes- plus the options that came with covid were so varied it meant we would still get the day we wanted. We we're fortunate enough to get two days at matara in the end, our wedding day 2020 and reception and blessing 2021! Nothing was ever too much for them, the grounds are immaculate and the food is incredible, everyone is still talking about it to this day! It's a secluded gem that definitely should get more hype.

Matara consistently took our breathe away

We had the pleasure of getting married at Matara twice, once in the midst of the pandemic in 2020 and also in August this year. The staff couldn’t have been nicer and we had two absolutely amazing days!

A wonderful place of tranqulity
The Matara Centre is a wonderful place if tranquility and you can feel the weight lift off your shoulders from the minute you walk through the Tori arch. The team at Matara are amazing and so accommodating. They have been fantastic in assisting us in our wedding planning and are so prompt to reply to any queries. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
The best weddings are always the ones that are a true expression of the couple. We encourage our couples to decorate all the spaces at Matara to their own tastes and have left the main reception room simple enough to accommodate all decors.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Concentrate on what marriage means to you as a couple and allow your day to unfold around that.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
We have seen some amazing wedding favours. One couple, who got married this year, trolled their favourite charity shops for books with specific meaning for each guest enabling them to personalise the favours and give over £1,000.00 to their charity of choice. Another couple made a huge batch of the bride's grandad's damson gin recipe and bottled it in single shot bottle for all the guests. Love those touches.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
Hmmmm. That is a really hard choice. The cloistered courtyard is a definite unique backdrop found nowhere else.

Yes, and that is all we are at liberty to divulge ;)
What’s your favourite canapé?
Our Curried Roasted Cauliflower Samosas with Mango Chutney or Sautéed Garlic & Thyme Fillet of Beef with Béarnaise Sauce are firm favourites!
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
We have just installed our own wood fired pizza oven. Anything coming out of that is divine.
What is your venue's most unique feature?

What part of your business are you most proud of?
Being able to offer each couple their wedding, their way.
