Cripps Barn is the original wedding barn from the family-run Cripps & Co. Cripps Barn is an 18th century Cotswold barn, set in the heart of the countryside near Bibury in the beautiful Coln Valley. With its flagstone floors, rustic beams and roaring open fireplace, this historic building has been transformed to provide a wedding barn for all seasons. Ceremonies are held in the main barn, whose solid stone structure is finished with a medieval chandelier, a large stone fireplace, a huge candelabra and two huge entrances bringing light in from a large terrace on one side and the sun-filled Oak Room on the other. We can accommodate 120 guests in this room, with a further 30 guests seated in the Oak Room with a view through to the ceremony. Alternatively, we have an Oak Pavilion in a woodland glade in the gardens of the barn, for those wishing to hold their wedding ceremony outside in the warmer months. The grounds of Cripps Barn are as lovely as the barn itself and provide an excellent backdrop for wedding photography. A vast glass and timber door opens out onto a large terrace with views over the Cotswold countryside and onto our woodland garden, complete with fire pits and a large bonfire. Guests can eat in style in our light and spacious Oak Room, with further dining capacity in the Ceremony Room. We can accommodate 150 seated guests in the Oak Room and 84 seated guests in the Ceremony Room. Wedding feasts are created by our own chefs, who flame-cook food on a giant rotisserie and BBQ grill. We buy the best, cook it simply and serve it generously. The main barn is transformed into a spectacular dance floor after dinner, where guests can celebrate into the night thanks to our special late 1 am license. Our on-site wedding team are on hand to help with everything from the big ideas to the last minute details.

We had the most perfect wedding day at Cripps Barn, and honestly, everything went so smoothly from start to finish. We had the best day we could have possibly imagined, and that is down to the incredible team at Cripps Barn. In particular, we cannot thank Aimee and Emily, our wedding coordinators on the day, enough. They were absolutely amazing and made us feel so comfortable throughout the entire day, making sure we always knew what was happening and keeping everything running perfectly to schedule. I genuinely don’t know what we would have done without them! Of course, Cripps Barn is one of the most beautiful wedding venues you could ever choose. You only have to look at the place to see why it is so special, but what makes it even more incredible is everything that comes alongside the venue. You’re not just paying for the most gorgeous setting; you’re getting an amazing team of people, incredible food and drink, and so much support throughout the entire wedding planning process. Every single member of staff was always on hand whenever we needed anything, and they went above and beyond to make sure we had the best possible experience. They even had to deal with some of our slightly mad guests at times, and they handled everything with such professionalism, patience and kindness! The best part was that we never had to worry about any of it. They dealt with anything that came up behind the scenes while making sure we were completely unaware of any problems and could just enjoy our day. That is exactly what you want from a wedding venue. I was particularly nervous in the lead-up to the wedding, but Aimee was absolutely brilliant at putting me at ease. She was there from the moment I arrived, talked me through everything and made sure I knew exactly what was happening. As soon as we came out of the ceremony, she was there waiting for us with a drink, which was such a lovely little touch and just summed up how attentive and caring she was throughout the whole day. All of our guests have told us that it was the best wedding they have ever been to and that they absolutely loved everything about the day, which is such a huge compliment and really says everything about how incredible Cripps Barn is. I think most couples probably have that worry in the back of their minds about whether everything will actually go to plan on the day. You hear so many stories about something inevitably going wrong and having to just deal with it, but we genuinely didn’t experience that at all. Everything went better than we could have imagined, and we were able to completely relax and enjoy every moment because we knew we were in such safe hands. I would also 100% recommend going to a Cripps Barn Feast Night if you’re considering getting married here. It was such a lovely experience and gave us the opportunity to see the venue, try the food and get a feel for how the day would work before our wedding. We will definitely be going back to one in the future, which is another thing we absolutely love about Cripps Barn, that we get to return to the place where we got married and experience it all over again! We genuinely cannot recommend Cripps Barn enough. We recently held our wedding at Cripps Barn, and we honestly couldn't have asked for a more magical day. From the moment we first visited, we knew it was the right place for us, but the team on the actual day exceeded every single expectation. The Setting & Capacity: The barn and its surrounding Cotswolds countryside are breathtakingly beautiful. The rustic charm, flagstone floors, and open fires created such a warm, intimate, and romantic atmosphere. We had around 80 guests, and the venue felt like the absolute perfect size—spacious enough for everyone to move around comfortably, yet cozy enough to keep the atmosphere buzzing and intimate. The Food: Our guests are still talking about the food! We opted for the steak for our main meal, and it was completely unreal—cooked to absolute perfection over the open fire, abundant, and full of incredible flavor. The kitchen team delivered a feast that blew everyone away. The Staff: The event coordinators and front-of-house staff were absolute professionals. They kept everything running seamlessly behind the scenes, leaving us completely stress-free so we could just enjoy every second with our family and friends. We cannot thank the team enough for bringing our Amalfi Themed Cotswolds wedding to life, for being so approachable and accommodating throughout the entire process. Cripps Barn is a beautiful venue with a slick and experienced team that took the stress out of the day. The food, atmosphere and facilities were exactly as we'd wanted, excellent. Every guest said how lovely the barn was, it felt intimate but there was plenty of space. We had lots of children at the wedding who had an absolutely brilliant time running around too. It's a very special venue and we'd highly recommend.Cripps Barn is a beautiful venue with a slick and experienced team that took the stress out of the day. Where do we even start! From the beginning the staff at Cripps have been absolutely incredible! Always responding to all my million questions, so helpful, and so so so kind. Made the wedding planning so much easier for us and completely put our mind at ease. Now on to the incredible day! James was incredibly amazing and kind and the staff that day was our dream team! I felt like I was floating from place to place and that everything was completely under control! The food was exquisite, everyone complimented every single course saying how delicious it was, and the creme brûlée was to die for!! Pizza in the evening was literally mouth watering! I could go on for literally hours at how amazing this staff was, they completely exceeded all my expectations and made our day the best day ever!! I couldn’t recommend this venue and company more! They clearly care and love all their couples and it’s shown throughout! Thank you so much Cripps and team! Where do we even start! Ed and I got married on 9 October 2021, there has originally been a few hiccups with the booking but the team were so accommodating. The team at Cripps had kept an open mind with indoors vs outdoors given the unpredictability of October but the weather was fantastic allowing for a gorgeous outdoors reception. Aimee was our front of house for the day and she was relaxed, chilled and directed us around the venue as and when required. We over bought on wine for the table which was swiftly refunded a few days after - the customer service of our whole wedding experience has been great. You will understandably hear this all the time, but Friday was truly the best day of our lives and that wouldn’t have been the case without the professionalism, precision and all round brilliance of all of the team at Cripps. The food was beyond amazing and everyone has told us it was the greatest wedding food they’ve had. Choosing your venue was the best decision we made and we can’t express how much we would recommend you to anyone who wants to get married in the most perfect setting with the best people running it so smoothly for you. You will understandably hear this all the time, but Friday was truly the best day of our lives and that wouldn’t have been the case without the professionalism, precision and all round brilliance of all of the team at Cripps. We fell in love with Cripps Barn the moment we walked through the door. The atmosphere and character oozes from every stone and corner - the warming smell of wood smoke is so rustic and welcoming, it will forever remind us of our wedding day! We had so many compliments on the venue and in particular the food - the food here is something else! Our sirloin steak bricks were cooked to perfection on the barbecue and our vegetarian friends raved about the veggie options too. We were able to light the night with sparklers on the firepits outside and toast marshmallows under the stars creating some beautiful memories we will cherish forever. What part of your business are you most proud of?

Our food! Our formula is “Buy the best, cook it simply, serve it generously”. We like to make our food dramatic as well as delicious, so we have a large feature kitchen where guests can watch their feast unfold. Our food is served 'feast-style' on boards and in bowls to the centre of the table for guests to just dig into! Yum!
