Description
The Great Tythe Barn has been sympathetically restored to provide an ideal blend of historic character and modern comfort. Couples and their guests can enjoy generous event spaces, charming accommodation, and comprehensive wedding packages designed to create memorable celebrations.
The venue is licensed to host indoor ceremonies for up to 200 guests, with an outdoor option available beneath the picturesque Oak Pavilion in suitable weather. Following the ceremony, guests can enjoy a drinks reception on the beautiful lawn or in the Barn’s Gallery. The thoughtfully designed, weatherproof layout ensures that celebrations can proceed seamlessly in all conditions.
A wide selection of drinks packages is available, each of which can be tailored to suit individual tastes. During this time, guests are served delicious canapés by one of the venue’s trusted catering partners.
On the ground floor of the barn, up to 200 guests can be seated for the wedding breakfast. The flexibility of the space allows for a variety of seating arrangements to suit different preferences. After the meal and speeches, tea and coffee can be served, while the bar remains open for guests to enjoy.
In the evening, the venue transforms into a striking reception space accommodating up to 350 guests. A stage and wooden dance floor provide an excellent setting for live bands or DJs, allowing guests to dance into the night. Evening food is also served to keep energy levels high.
At the end of the celebration, guests can take advantage of a range of on-site accommodation options, sleeping up to 90 people. These include self-catering cottages, bed and breakfast rooms, and the luxurious five-star Tythe House.

The grounds and venue are beautiful, whilst the on-site accomodation set up was perfect for us, with so many of our guests travelling to be there. Each member of the team was so wonderful and helpful, particularly our main wedding co-ordinator Poppy. Every tiny detail was taken care of, which meant the day ran smoothly and was stress free. We had the best day celebrating and this was largely down to the team, thank you!We got married at the Great Tythe Barn in November 2025 and couldn't recommend the venue more highly! The grounds and venue are beautiful, whilst the on-site accomodation set up was perfect for us, with so many of our guests travelling to be there. We were sold on the venue having viewed the beautiful, and ample accommodation, and the wonderful friendly staff who promised a personalised service from a small locally run venue. Our co-ordinator was Poppy and we could not be more complimentary, she was fantastic throughout. Super friendly, attentive, and full of really helpful suggestions when we weren't sure what we were doing! All the staff were amazing, replying to questions quickly and being so accommodating to our requests. The venue speaks for itself, completely stunning and with the Christmas tree up for our wedding it was just perfect. The accommodation was pristine, warm and inviting and it was just the perfect way to spend time with loved ones the day before the wedding itself. We had such an amazing weekend which exceeded all our expectations and an integral part of that came down to Poppy and the team. The entire team; Tracey, Meg, Poppy and Jac are fantastic and couldn't have done more for us. Cater cater provided our food for the day and did a wonderful job at setting up our tables and the food was so tasty! We got a lot of compliments about the food, especially the cheesecake. The barn is gorgeous with or without decorations making it the perfect location for any wedding and the gardens are a great setting for photos. We booked the Churn cottage for 2 nights too which was lovely, we particularly enjoyed the fireplace. Thank you all so much for such a lovely day. The barn and grounds are stunning, there was plenty of accommodation including the fantastic house, and the staff were absolutely top notch. Everyone we dealt with from start to finish was so helpful and organised. The day went incredibly smoothly and everyone just loved it. It was truly magical, from the garden setting for the ceremony to the gorgeous barn for our party and the amazing photo locations. From the moment we saw TGB I knew it was the perfect place for our big day.
