Walking into the barn, illuminated by twinkling fairy lights, was like stepping into a fairy tale. The bespoke menu was tailored to perfection, featuring a seafood platter that our guests are still raving about. The cocktail package was a really nice addition for our guests arrival and we were really impressed with the amazing food throughout the reception! Thanks again! Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
We strive to make every wedding we're involved in unique and memorable but as an example we had a wedding at The George Inn which had all the elements of a fairy tale, infused with a dash of Kentish charm. Sarah and Jack, a lovely couple deeply connected to the countryside, wanted their wedding to reflect both elegance and rustic simplicity.
They exchanged vows in our wedding-licensed barn, which was magically transformed with cascades of wildflowers and twinkling fairy lights. The emotional ceremony was complemented by a string quartet playing soft, romantic melodies.
Post-ceremony, guests were treated to a garden cocktail hour featuring local craft beers and our award-winning wine selection. Our chefs outdid themselves with a menu that showcased the best of Kent, from Canterbury lamb to Whitstable oysters.
As the sun set, the expansive lawn came alive with a bonfire and a live folk band, where everyone danced under a canopy of stars. But the highlight was a surprise fireworks display that lit up the Newnham Valley sky.
The couple's vision, our venue, and a team committed to excellence came together to create a day that was not just a wedding, but a celebration of love, community, and the beauty of Kent.

Remember the day is for yourselves as well! It's very easy to get caught up with the stress of organising a hundred different things at once, as well as trying to attend to all of your guests and family. We'll support you in the planning and carrying out of the wedding to help you enjoy the magical day for yourselves as well!

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
The crown jewel of photo opportunities at The George Inn is undoubtedly the hilltop in our picturesque garden. It offers a sweeping view of the lush Newnham Valley as the backdrop, beautifully capturing the essence of Kent. Imagine sharing a kiss as the sun sets, or holding hands surrounded by the vivid colors of blooming flowers. This hilltop spot is not just a photo location; it's where countless couples have captured the magic and romance of their special day.
Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
While we value the privacy of all our guests and can't disclose specific names, we can share that The George Inn at Newnham has been a choice location for individuals in the public eye looking for a secluded, charming setting for their special events.
What’s your favourite canapé?
Our chefs love to experiment, but if we had to pick, our favorite would be the Kentish Cheese and Fig Tart. It's a delightful blend of local cheese and fresh figs, encapsulating the essence of Kent in one bite.
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
For that late-night craving, nothing beats our Mini Fish and Chips served in quaint paper cones. It’s a British classic that always gets rave reviews from our night-owl guests!
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Our most unique feature has to be our wedding-licensed barn. Its rustic charm and adaptability make it a perfect canvas for any theme or décor, offering an authentic countryside ambiance that's hard to replicate.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
What fills us with pride is our dedication to local Kentish produce and our commitment to community. Beyond being a wedding venue, we see ourselves as storytellers helping couples weave the narrative of their love while celebrating Kent's rich heritage.
