Situated on the edge of the historic market town of Strathaven in South Lanarkshire, our 18th century country house has undergone a major refurbishment and is a stunning location for a wedding.
Our stylish Strathaven Suite, with floor to ceiling windows (and access to the gardens) is complete with it’s own reception area and bar, offering complete privacy for you and your guests. We can accommodate up to 160 guests for a seated wedding breakfast and 200 guests for an evening reception. Or for an intimate wedding choose The Overton, accommodating up to 30 for dining. With complimentary parking, 22 bedrooms, and fantastic food, Strathaven Hotel has everything you need.
Whether you have a clear vision for your wedding or need help with planning, our team are happy to assist in any way we can. We have a selection of packages to help make planning easier. However, these are not set in stone, and special requests can be easily incorporated.

Our day was absolutely perfect! The hotel is gorgeous, great space with a great atmosphere! The food is incredible and the drinks were flowing all day! The team at the hotel are so kind and friendly, nothing is ever a problem and they all were such a lovely part of our day! We alway felt in such safe hands, they are experts! A special mention to the amazing Morgan who was with us from day one through all our appointments etc, she truly is a wonder woman and made everything so smooth and such a lovely experience! We can’t wait to come visit for dinner! The most amazing day !!We honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding day at Strathaven Hotel. ❤️ The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous and provided the most beautiful setting for our special day. From the moment we arrived, everything felt so welcoming, and every single member of staff we came across was incredibly friendly, kind and helpful. The food was absolutely excellent too — our guests couldn’t stop talking about how delicious everything was! And then there’s Morgan… quite honestly, she is the fairy godmother of weddings! 🧚♀️✨ From the very beginning right through to the end of our wedding day, she was there for us every step of the way. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and she somehow made everything feel calm and manageable, even when we were probably stressing over the smallest things! Having someone like Morgan there to guide and support you makes such a difference, and we genuinely can’t thank her enough. Our only regret is that the day didn’t have more hours in it! Morgan was fantastic and we had several meetings before our day to ensure we had the perfect day. The hotel is in a perfect setting and we were lucky enough for the sun to shine and have our photographs outside. From our first visit we were so welcomed by Morgan and the team. Morgan is the most friendly, likeable girl and no request or question was ever too much for her. The hotel itself was everything we needed. We were slightly worried as we had our high school prom at the venue 11 years prior but it was so different. It is a great blank canvas to do as little or as much as you wanted in terms of decor. The staff created an excellent, relaxed and chilled atmosphere which made the day run so smoothly. Even a year on, all our guests comment on the quality and presentation of our wedding meal. It was delicious!! Morgan is so amazing at her job- such a lovely, warm person who is great at what she does. Super organised and deals with every query and question quickly. The hotel has a relaxed approach to a lot of things and we loved this. We had the most perfect day and despite it being raining, they even made the effort to put our outdoor games for the kids in the ceremony room to keep them entertained. The meal was excellent and all of our guests commented on it - especially the haggis parcel to start! The hotel really do go above and beyond to make your day run smoothly and ensure every little detail is covered. We couldn’t recommend them enough ☺️ What an amazing venue! Morgan and the team were incredible. Nothing was a bother, everyone was so helpful and friendly. Everything ran so smoothly. The food and drinks were lovely. There was never a queue at the bar and dinner service ran quickly and smoothly. Our guests really enjoyed their meal and we’re still hearing comments about how amazing the hotel and staff were. In particular, Morgan got so much praise for how helpful and attentive she was. Morgan was one of the reasons that we initially booked the hotel as we felt so comfortable with her and could feel that she cared about us and giving us a great day. Throughout the full lead up to the wedding, Morgan was always there for any questions we had and could not have been more attentive and helpful. We knew we could trust her with anything. On the day, Morgan was again so incredibly helpful. She put aside canapés for us, make sure our drinks were always topped up, helped me take out my veil, put my dinner aside to keep hot while I was away from my seat, rushed to help my mother in law when soup was spilled on her dress. Morgan helped create an amazing atmosphere in the hall and helped keep everything to time. She was amazing and I can’t thank her enough for everything. She is incredible at what she does and is such a wonderful person. She helped make our wedding a dream come true and we’re so thankful. Jennifer was also incredible on the day. Now to mention Morgan…where do I even begin? Morgan is sunshine personified. She is an absolute all round legend. She is so professional and she is exceptional at her job as well as being so kind, caring and warm. She genuinely cares about her job and about every couple she deals with, and she was incredible throughout the entire planning process and on the day itself. She must’ve helped thousands of couples with their wedding day, and had the same kinds of conversations hundreds of times, but she has a real talent at making you feel like she is so excited for you and genuinely wants you to have the perfect day.
