Facilities and Capacity
Originally the private residence of Lord Tollemache and crafted in the early 19th century, Peckforton Castle stands proudly as the country’s only fully intact medieval-style castle, a timeless landmark that has played host to iconic film and television productions including Robin Hood, Sherlock Holmes, Doctor Who, and Coronation Street. Today, its magnificent façade is matched by a restored interior, featuring 48 beautifully dressed bedrooms and a collection of grand entertaining spaces.
As part of the estate’s continued programme of elevated investment, guests can look forward to experiencing the new, award-winning fine-dining restaurant 1851 and an exclusive bridal retreat, debuting in January 2026. In addition, the charming on-site lodge sleeping up to 10 guests and perfect for bridal parties, has recently undergone a luxurious refurbishment, offering an enhanced private sanctuary. Ten newly refurbished bedrooms within the castle will be available early 2026, with the suites also set to receive an opulent upgrade in 2026.
Peckforton Castle offers five unique function rooms, each designed to host wedding's, cocktail receptions, and lavish celebrations. The venue accommodates up to 165 guests for daytime festivities and up to 350 for evening occasions. Every setting can be completely transformed with refined floral displays, sophisticated decor, and bespoke styling to create a breathtaking backdrop for your celebration.
When the celebrations come to a close, newlyweds may retire to one of the castle’s beautifully appointed suites, offering a serene and indulgent space to unwind and savour the first moments of married life.

We honestly couldn't have asked for a more perfect day, it was truly magical from start to finish. Firstly, we wanted to say a huge thank you to you Nicole for helping us plan a day that was so perfect. You were so instrumental in making the day what it was. You were so accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. You always seemed to be available for questions/queries. The venue and grounds are beyond magnificent but I think it was all the staff that helped to create such a perfect day. We would also like to say a special thank you to Sophie, as she was also amazing. We loved having her there throughout the day and helped to keep us on track but she was also flexible and relaxed. I honestly can't thank you both enough for helping us have the most magical wedding. The supplier Butterfly Events were incredible, really flexible before the wedding and they were so helpful to Andy on the day. Matt Nicholls was also incredible, he felt like part of the wedding party rather than our photographer. He helped the girls feel at ease immediately. We loved having him as part of our special day. The food throughout the day was incredible and all our guests commented on how delicious everything was from the canapés, wedding breakfast through to the hog roast. We want to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. We'll make sure we always come and say hi.
