The wedding was amazing and the venue was lovely and have no regrets at all booking with them however there were a few things that I felt made the experience tainted.
They were very accommodating all the way up until the day we set up.
During set up, there was no staff members to be seen, they were in meetings all day so we didn't know what time we could finish, what we were allowed to put where etc. Eventually they came to ask if we needed help at 4.55pm and when I asked how long we had left she said 5 minutes. Her coat was on and ready to go and even drove away from the venue before we had got into our cars. This meant the final touches were less than perfect and I went away feeling rushed and stressed that we'd forgotten something.
Then, on the day, you could hear staff members talking during our ceremony which we had taped, luckily I was so nervous that I didn't notice however the guests and my husband did.
We had asked all along for our reception to start at 6.30 instead of 7pm but no-one informed the resident DJ which meant guests arrived without the DJ set up.
We were also advised that another event had been booked the next day so we either had to clear out all the decorations that night or come back at 9am the next morning... So at the end of the night, all of our family had to chip in to get as much of the decorations together into their storage room so myself and the groom could come back the next morning to collect. If you are creative and wish to do your own decorations then this was not a good scenario, I would recommend having it decorated by an external company so you don't have to worry about it at the end of your own wedding.
Apart from all of that however, the food was lovely, the venue looked amazing, the rest of the staff were very accommodating and prompt with everything and did help up clear away into the storage room, and we did have a lovely day that makes me smile when I think about it.
I was a really laid back bride but I can imagine anyone else who wants everything to be spot on might have struggled.
