Description

Your ceremony takes place in the splendour of a sympathetically restored Georgian Court Room, amongst the treasures of the historic Welsh town. Drinks are served below, in the Archer’s Hall, while our courtyard and Castle Green provide the ideal outdoor space for your guests to relax and socialise. With panoramic views across the Bristol Channel, the green is a tranquil spot in the shadow of the romantic ruins of our Norman castle. Following the ceremony we can transform the Court Room for your wedding breakfast. Our dedicated team of experts is on hand to help you fulfil all your requirements for your special day. We have the flexibility to offer you a variety of options and can create tailor-made packages to make your celebration unique. Also, by having your wedding with us you are supporting a charitable cause. The Guildhall is a registered charity which offers events and activities to the community.

What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Make sure you have the wedding day that you both want as a couple! It's got to be about you both, no-one else - sure you want your friends and family around you to celebrate, but it's your day!!! And one you'll want to remember forever for all of the right reasons!

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

I love celebrant-lead ceremonies! This year I've noticed couples doing the legal bit at the registrar's office mid-week with just a few witnesses, and then having the fun, beautiful and unique celebration that they want, from start to finish - totally personal to them as a couple.... even outside if the Welsh weather holds up!

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

On the Castle Green with the ruins of our very own Norman Castle in the background and the odd goat or two.

What’s your favourite canapé?

Anything with a mushroom in it! :)

What is your venue's most unique feature?

The Guildhall has been many things and once it held the town jail! The old cells are still recognisable downstairs!

What part of your business are you most proud of?

Creating a fabulous, new wedding venue in an incredible hilltop location
