Full Description
The name Coed-Y-Mwstwr refers to the whispering sound of the woods that surround this gorgeous place. But this venue is no shy wallflower: inside and out, you’ll find charming backdrops that offer the perfect foil for any wedding celebration. From period rooms to wild woods, fireside to formal gardens, it offers some magical settings for your big day. The Elliot Suite is a light and gracious space is impossible to forget, with its wonderful domed ceiling, Arts and Crafts style beams and cornicing and glistening, classical chandeliers. It’s an enchanting, intimate space for your ceremony and can seat 20 to 50 guests for a wedding breakfast. The Hendre Suite is perfect for larger weddings and is a glamorous, contemporary option. Wide, glazed doors make the most of the views across the luscious landscape, bringing the outside in. And with its own bar, patio and lounge, it’s extremely versatile, too. It offers a sumptuous space for 50 to 170 guests. The Folly is our latest space, for up to 100 guests: a dazzling 360° glasshouse with a retractable roof. If you’d love to get married outside but don’t want to gamble with our lively Welsh weather, then this offers the perfect solution. You needn’t choose between indoors or outdoors – you can have both.

Happy Couple Married in November
I don’t know where to even start! We knew the Coed was ‘the one’ from our first visit. Tommy and Megan were fab from start to finish and no question was too stupid or too small during the planning stages and the day went beyond smoothly. The food was delicious and my guests haven’t stopped raving about how attentive every single member of staff was throughout the day. We cannot thank the Coed enough :)

Everything was perfect; Tommy and Megan were on hand to answer any questions and provide guidance from the moment we had our first look around the venue right up until the morning of the wedding. They looked after our guest of honour and ring bearer (our dog), set up the rooms perfectly for us & went above and beyond to ensure the day ran smoothly. The whole team at the Coed were fantastic; down to earth, lovely people who are excellent at what they do!

Coed-y-Mwstwr Staff
To Meg, Tommy and all the staff at Coed, You are the loveliest, most amazing group of people and we had the most wonderful and special wedding day all thanks to you guys. The day went so smoothly and we are so appreciative of all the work you put in behind the scenes and on the day itself. Your communication has been outstanding and you are all so excellent at your jobs! Thank you Meg and Tommy for dealing with my endless emails and helping us every step of the way. We can't wait to come back.

Simply the Best Venue in Wales
We had the most amazing day celebrating our wedding at the Coed-y-Mwstwr. From the moment we started the planning with Megan and Tommy who are both amazing and make you feel so special they couldn't have done more for us. All the staff were so friendly, helpful and professional and enjoyable to be around. The day was perfect and ran so smoothly, it made us feel relaxed and special. We got married in The Folly which was incredible and the surrounding gardens are spectacular. It was so nice to hear from all our guests that said it was the most spectacular venue and best wedding they had attended. The Hendre Suite where we had our wedding breakfast and evening reception was absolutely stunning and with such good weather on the day we could open the doors up onto the patio area giving it a very spacious feeling and cosy in the evening with the fire pit alight in the middle with our guests sat around it. We would highly recommend celebrating your special day here this venue is beautiful all year around and the staff are amazing.

A winter wedding we thought might never happen!
Where to begin, but other than if you are yet to book your venue and considering the Coed Y Mester then do not hesitate and get it booked. The coed to us, is definitely the best venue in Wales! Stunning views, incredible food and most importantly a fun, friendly and relaxed atmosphere even for your fur babies 🐶! Getting married here was the best choice for us, especially having to postpone our wedding due to the pandemic. Unfortunately, after postponing for a new date one year later, Wales went into a level two lockdown a few days before we were due to say 'I Do'. Thankfully, we had the most efficient, organised and best team looking after us ! Both Tommy and Megan were at the end of every phone call and email, nothing was ever too much to ask and their priority was ensuring we could have the day we had hoped for in the best circumstances we were given. What should have been a very stressful time, having to restrict numbers and make last minute changes, they comforted us and made sure everything was in place that needed to be. Huge compliments to the catering and hospitality staff, as the food and service received throughout the day and evening were amazing, they even allowed us to carry our party on into the early hours where we could reminisce about the day around the log fire. A truly amazing venue, which has a very special place in our hearts. I wish we could do the day all over, but we have memories that will last a lifetime!

Amazing venue for a wedding
We had our wedding at Coed-Y-Mwstwr in summer 2021 and can honestly say it was such an amazing day and wouldn’t have been half as good as it was without the coed! The entire process has been amazing for us, we can’t thank Tommy and Megan enough for answering all of my billion questions (especially as we had to plan with covid restrictions) and putting me at ease every time. They set out the room exactly as I pictured it which was a big worry of mine as I hadn’t paid a decorative company as some couples do, but I didn’t need to worry at all. The day went so smoothly with the help of Paul and all the staff! They were all so friendly and helpful. Thankfully covid restrictions ended one day before our wedding so we had THE BEST END OF LOCKDOWN WEDDING PARTY! The food was amazing and so filling (and that was their basic set menu!). The rooms were stunning, we can’t wait to actually stay again! Breakfast was delicious and it was a shame when we had to leave as it meant our time was over. We opted for their four season package which we found such value for money, we have friends we have gone abroad for a cheaper wedding and we’ve still paid less. Coed-Y-Mwstwr is always going to be an incredibly special place for us now and we will always jump at the chance to visit again.

Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

Ooo, that's a tough one as they are all amazing but it has to be one of our summer weddings just after the release of restrictions. From the night prior to the morning of departure, it was just one big party! The majority of wedding guests were travelling from a far, so to see these guests reunite after such a long and emotional period was something that can only be described as magical! Not a mask in sight, arms wrapped firmly around each other (whilst the other hand was accompanied by a glass of bubbly) mixed with laughter and excitement was the perfect recipe for the start of a big wedding weekend. The theme was just white, pure, elegant WHITE. From white floral tree's to petals and hurricane vases during the ceremony to white starlight drapes and dancefloors - just WOW.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Remember, the most important people that matter is you TWO.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

Our favourite personal touch, has to be the Cake reveal. Bride & Groom had both designed each half of their wedding cake and was releaved on the day. It was a mix between Marvel & Pets.

Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.

Now your asking, how do we describe your dream venue in only 5? Inviting, Picturesque, Classically Elegant, Atmospheric, Romantic.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

Being a picturesque venue, it is so difficult to pick just one spot! A couple of our favourites are in front of the Country House, this makes for a beautiful backdrop to that big group photo! Then, our woodland areas are the perfect setting for those more intimate couple photos! Just Incredible!

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

We had the pleasure of welcoming Nick Knowles! Safe to say, we did not ask him to fix anything during his stay!

What’s your favourite canapé?

Ooooo, we have so many!! Its a tough one, between Crispy Coated Camberet and Mini Cottage Pies.

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

Has to be a mini fish & chip cone!

What is your venue's most unique feature?

Very cliche, however our team. We would be nothing without eachother and being a family run business this shines through in everything we do here.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

The development of our property.
