Located in St Helen’s Square, Impossible York is one of the most iconic wedding venues within the historic city walls of York. Set within the former Terry’s Chocolate Orange building, this striking Grade II listed venue blends original architectural features with bold, contemporary design to create a truly unforgettable backdrop for your special day.
From elegant ceremony spaces to atmospheric reception rooms, each area has been thoughtfully reimagined to suit weddings of all styles and sizes. Whether you’re planning an intimate celebration or a larger gathering, the flexible spaces can be tailored to reflect your vision perfectly.
The venue is also home to the Impossible Motel, offering 13 uniquely designed bedrooms for you and your guests. Once a former bank, the building still retains original bank vaults, adding a distinctive sense of history and character. For an added touch of luxury, guests can also enjoy two rooftop hot tubs, offering a unique way to relax and take in the city skyline.
With bespoke wedding packages available, the dedicated team ensures every detail is considered, delivering a seamless and personalised experience from start to finish. At Impossible York, your wedding becomes more than a day—it becomes a lasting memory in a truly extraordinary setting.
Due to our Grade II listed status, some areas of the venue are not fully accessible, and many of the spaces involve a number of stairs leading up to the rooms.
For private events, we do allow children to attend and stay for as long as you would like.
Access to Impossible is determined by a variety of factors. Please speak to your coordinator for more information.
We operate on a minimum spend basis for weddings. For more information, please drop us an email with as many details as possible and we’ll be happy to provide a tailored quote for you.
