Full Description
The elegant Victorian Conservatory stands within a stylish terrace and allows guests to enjoy easy access to the Horniman’s award winning gardens. The Grade II listed cast iron Conservatory was originally built by the Horniman family in 1894 and has recently been beautifully restored to its original splendour. A large open space, full of original features, it is a beautiful and unique space for weddings. The Pavilion is a calm and peaceful contemporary venue. It is a bright and airy space with floor to ceiling windows which fold back across the front of the building to give full access to a large private terrace overlooking the London skyline, a wonderful contemporary wedding venue. The Bandstand is a totally unique feature of the gardens. Perfect for small, intimate wedding ceremonies, the Bandstand offers a picturesque snapshot of a bygone era. With stunning views across the surrounding gardens to the skyline of the London landmarks beyond. Our weddings are all managed and booked through Suzanne James – award winning local independent caterers and events company.

FAQ
(5)

Describe your venue in 5 adjectives.

Quirky, unique, beautiful, elegant and distinctive.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

The Horniman has a beautiful Sunken Garden which is updated every year with fresh new flowers in all colours. If you're looking for something romantic, amongst the foliage outside the Clock Tower is the spot for you and if you're looking for something very quirky, in front of the Horniman's overstuffed Walrus is sure to be a stand out photo.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

We can't name names but being situated in South East London means we do get to host some local celebrities. In the past we've welcomed podcasters, radio hosts and well known dancers.

What’s your favourite canapé?

Definitely the rose harissa chicken skewers with lime yoghurt, rose petals and sumac. Or the tofu with gochujang glaze with spring onions and onion seeds for vegan weddings! Ask for our list of canapes and you will be spoilt for choice.

What is your venue's most unique feature?

Our Grade II listed Victorian Conservatory, its grand elegance requires minimal decoration to enhance an already distinctive space.
