Description

The elegant Victorian Conservatory stands within a stylish terrace and allows guests to enjoy easy access to the Horniman’s award winning gardens. The Grade II listed cast iron Conservatory was originally built by the Horniman family in 1894 and has recently been beautifully restored to its original splendour. A large open space, full of original features, it is a beautiful and unique space for weddings. The Pavilion is a calm and peaceful contemporary venue. It is a bright and airy space with floor to ceiling windows which fold back across the front of the building to give full access to a large private terrace overlooking the London skyline, a wonderful contemporary wedding venue. The Bandstand is a totally unique feature of the gardens. Perfect for small, intimate wedding ceremonies, the Bandstand offers a picturesque snapshot of a bygone era. With stunning views across the surrounding gardens to the skyline of the London landmarks beyond. Our weddings are all managed and booked through Suzanne James – award winning local independent caterers and events company.

Horniman is an absolute favourite
As a London-based wedding photographer, I’ve had the privilege of working at many unique and beautiful venues. One of my absolute favorites is the Horniman Museum. Nestled in the heart of South London, this stunning location offers a perfect blend of history, nature, and enchanting charm, making it an ideal setting for unforgettable wedding photographs.

Conservatory is amazing even in winter
The Horniman is a beautiful, unusual museum with gorgeous gardens, conservatory and a bandstand overlooking london. Its a fantastic wedding venue to host your South London wedding. I love that Jen & Alex chose to have their winter wedding ceremony in the Victorian glass roof conservatory. Even in winter this room is flooded with natural light – a photographers dream! They decorated the conservatory with winter flowers featuring red roses designed by Millie Easton.

Stunning buildings and incredible grounds
Andy and Briony got married last winter at the spectacular Horniman museum, which is a stunning Victorian conservatory in Dulwich, and had their ceremony at their local pub, East Dulwich Tavern, which was a bus ride away. They chose The Horniman museum because it was just the right level of grandeur, but still had a really relaxed vibe and they fell in love with it. I love shooting weddings at The Horniman museum because the building is completely stunning and the grounds are just incredible.

Some of the food we've had a wedding
We booked Suzanne James for our wedding at the Horniman in August and we highly recommend them. The organisation and hard work leading up to the wedding and on the day itself meant it all ran smoothly and we were really able to relax and enjoy it. We had lots of compliments about the food - many people saying it was the best they’ve had at a wedding! And the friendly, proactive service from all the staff really contributed to the relaxed atmosphere. Thank you for making our day so special!

Outstanding service
Suzanne James hosted and catered for our wedding ceremony at the Horniman Museum in April 2018. Their service was outstanding! They were always on hand to ease my worries about the day and listen to my ideas. They really went above and beyond what was expected. The food was delicious and drinks were delivered with a smile! Everyone commented on how great the staff were and how they helped to make the day extra special.

A perfect wedding at the Horniman Museum
We had a perfect wedding at the Horniman Museum back in end of May 2022, thanks to Suzanne James and her team and special thanks to Amanda who helped us planning from day one. Everyone loved the beautiful canapés served after the ceremony at the Band Stand and were impressed how the team really kept the bubbly flowing. We really can go on and on and on about what a magical day we had…If you are thinking of getting married in a venue with a difference, Horniman is a great choice!

Incredible food
We got married at the Horniman in July and Suzanne James were our caterers and wedding planners. They were incredible. The food was sublime - how they produced such beautiful, tasty food out of a tiny tent for 110 people is a mystery! - and the day ran so smoothly. Thank you so much for everything.

Amazing service!
We had our wedding last week and Suzanne James were both the caterers and wedding planners for the Horniman Museum in Forest Hill. Both the planning and service during the wedding were impeccable and James made sure that we were looked after at the reception. We received so many compliments from our guests both for the food and the service. Special thanks go to Suzanne for the wonderful food, James for making the day an absolute breeze, Megan and Claire for looking after all our friends and f

The best day!
The wedding itself on the day was absolutely incredible. We loved every minute of it. The food was fantastic. The venue, The Horniman Museum Bandstand/Conservatory was out of this world and so beautiful. All the details including recommended suppliers who knew the venue came through and delivered on the day adding to such a perfect day for us!
