From start to finish, everything ran so smoothly and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The outdoor wedding setup was beautiful, and the atmosphere throughout the day was exactly what we had dreamed of. The BBQ was incredible — so many of our guests commented that it was the best wedding food they had ever had! Please pass on our compliments to everyone involved. The DJ was fantastic and played every song we requested, keeping the dance floor full all night and making the evening even more memorable. The staff and service throughout the entire day were exceptional. Everyone was friendly, professional, and so helpful, which made the whole experience completely stress-free for both us and our guests. Thank you again for helping create such a special and unforgettable day for us. We kmow the venue well having enjoyed meals and drinks there previously. Dealing with the wedding team was an absolute pleasure. Offering advice and options throughout. When we had to make any small amendments to numbers, menu etc Joanne was always available. The day itself was perfect. The venue looked amazing! The food is of a very high standard and the service exceptional. All staff were well presented and smiling throughout. Holland Hall arranged the evening entertainment and @Anthony Oliver kept outline party going with a varied mix of songs. What part of your business are you most proud of?
I'm incredibly proud of how Holland Hall has evolved over the years while still retaining its historic charm. We've invested heavily in transforming the venue, creating many different beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces for couples to enjoy. Most of all, I'm proud of our team and the relationships we build with our couples. Many return for anniversaries, christenings and family celebrations, becoming part of our forever Holland Hall family.
What is your venue's most unique feature?
Our historic manor house dates back centuries and is full of fascinating character, including an original front door from 1654 and hidden priest holes discovered during renovations. Alongside our rich history, we now offer two dedicated pre-ceremony spaces, The Lounge and Bridal Lounge, where couples can relax, get ready in style and enjoy quality time with their wedding party before the celebrations begin.
Where's the best photo spot at your venue?
The front lawn is one of my favourite spots, especially when the tree lights are glowing after dark. The Forever Yours sweetheart swing creates beautiful romantic photographs, while the grounds are perfect for sparklers, fireworks and group shots. The end of our driveway also offers stunning countryside views that make a wonderful backdrop throughout all seasons.
What's your wedding food favourite offering?
It's hard to choose but our canapés are always a favourite. They give newlyweds the opportunity to relax with family and friends while enjoying delicious food after the ceremony. Our famous homemade Wigan pie buffet is always popular for the evening reception and our slow cooked hog roast, prepared and served by our Executive Chef, is a real showstopper that guests never forget.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Stay organised but don't put too much pressure on yourselves. A planner, notebook or checklist can be invaluable and having a timeline helps make everything feel more manageable. Our wedding brochure includes a helpful two year planning timeline, covering key milestones from booking right through to your big day. Most importantly, remember it's your day - make decisions that reflect you as a couple and focus on creating memories you'll cherish forever.
Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
That's a difficult one! One memorable wedding saw Stormtroopers arrive to arrest the groom before he was dramatically rescued by The Avengers. We've also welcomed helicopter arrivals, a surprise Tina Turner wedding crasher and even hosted an entire wedding weekender, complete with a pre-wedding gathering, the big day itself and a relaxed BBQ celebration afterwards. No two weddings are ever the same, which is what makes my job so special.
What's your favourite personal touch you've seen at a wedding?
One of my favourites was a wedding cake handmade by the bride. It included subtle details representing their pets, hobbies and shared memories. We've also seen personalised cocktails, handwritten notes for every guest and even wedding date tattoos. The most memorable weddings are always the ones that truly reflect the couple's personalities.

Have you had any celebrity guests or weddings at your venue?
We were delighted to host Liverpool footballer Mo Salah for a private photoshoot and interview with GQ Magazine. We've also had weddings featured in national publications and online media. But whether you're a celebrity or not, every couple receives the same warm welcome and special experience at Holland Hall.
What do couples love most about getting married at Holland Hall?
Couples often tell us they love the flexibility we offer. No two weddings are the same and we work closely with every couple to bring their vision to life.
