For those balmy summer weddings, the lake offers the most breath-taking outside ceremony location! Couples also are able to choose from many of the ground floor rooms in the main house which are also licensed for Civil Ceremonies. With endless outside space, the formal gardens on the Sun kissed West Terrace boarded beautifully by the sumptuous, perfumed David Austin Roses, really is firm a favourite for a summer drinks reception. Complete with a selection of garden games to entertain your guests while you slip off to get the all-important photos! For the wedding breakfast, the Long Gallery with its white wooden paneling and crystal chandeliers offers the most versatile space for you to enjoy your wedding breakfast for up to 148 people. For couples wishing to get ready at Hengrave Hall there are two wonderful preparation rooms, both available on the morning of your special day. The Queen Elizabeth Suite is situated in a private part of the house, giving you complete privacy to prepare and our blue room comes equipped with Billiard table, flat screen TV and wet room to use in the morning. With 21 bedrooms exclusively yours for you and your guests why not extend the celebrations and enjoy a sumptuous breakfast altogether the morning after before the happy couple depart.

Hengrave Hall is simply the best venue you could ever imagine to wish for to make your day so memorable and special Catriona and the team worked tirelessly to make sure nothing went unattended to, before or during the day. Everything was so beautifully executed. Having such a fabulous building and stunning grounds as a backdrop for our most special day was like a dream come true and Hengrave Hall will always hold such a special place in our hearts. ♥️Hengrave Hall is simply the best venue you could ever imagine to wish for to make your day so memorable and special Catriona and the team worked tirelessly to make sure nothing went unattended to, before or during the day. The venue was perfect for my daughter and her husband - they wanted a church wedding but also a one site wedding. The little church in the grounds was such a beautiful place to marry, and the Methodist minister, Jason, surely knew how to celebrate the couple and lead the ceremony - a very lovely down to earth bloke. On the day, when nerves were beginning to jangle the Hengrave and Milsoms staff were such a confident, steady presence, making sure everything happened as it should. My daughter was very appreciative of how supportive and calm they were when she was feeling a bit wobbly before the ceremony. Everything worked like clockwork with the ceremony and reception. The food was outstanding. I'd ordered fish, which was perfectly cooked, delicious, and hot; it takes a lot of organisation to run meal for over a hundred so well. Every member of staff we met was helpful, courteous and efficient. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the breakfast the next morning was great. Without a doubt, the best wedding we have ever been to! From the moment we booked this venue, the wedding planning process has not been at all stressful. The Hengrave team have guided us through the process and put it all together on the day so beautifully. I would highly recommend using their recommended suppliers as not only experts in their field, they all work together so seamlessly! All of our guests were amazed by the beauty of the venue. We partly chose this venue as we felt it would look gorgeous in sunny skies and also in torrential rain. Luckily, we had the former on our special day! We can’t wait to receive our photographs- there are so many beautiful locations around the venue and grounds! I loved being a Bride at this venue, and would love to be a wedding guest! We had the most magical Christmas wedding at Hengrave Hall. From the moment we were shown around, I knew it was the one. Aside from the stunning venue and on site church, the experience we received was better than we could have ever wished for, from start to finish. From comms via emails, to many visits, to setting up and running the day, even the small things like helping me and my bridesmaids on the morning of our wedding - Hengrave went above and beyond for us, and our wedding ran seamlessly.We had the most magical Christmas wedding at Hengrave Hall. My husband and I chose Hengrave Hall because it ticked all of our boxes. Joint must have - Somewhere local for us? ✅ Bride’s must have - Somewhere with a church? ✅ Groom’s must have - Somewhere with a beautiful house for the reception? ✅ Once we visited, we knew it was the only place we wanted to get married. We waited patiently for the books for 2024 to open (we’d gone to view in 2021 and books opened in 2022) and literally booked our date the day we were able to. We cannot thank the staff enough for making the day run as smoothly as it did. They’re all so good at their jobs and were able to make everything feel stress-free and allow us to have the most amazing day possible. We had comments from guests about how slick the day felt and how well the staff accommodated everyone. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?

Every wedding at Hengrave Hall is unique, making it almost impossible to choose a favourite. One celebration that will always stay with us transformed the front lawn into a traditional fairground, complete with a Ferris wheel and bumper cars. It was a spectacular surprise for guests and a wonderful example of how couples can make the estate their own while creating unforgettable memories.

What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Our number one tip is to send your save the dates as early as possible. Giving your guests plenty of notice means they can plan ahead, book time off work and arrange travel, especially if they're travelling from further afield.

It's also worth researching local accommodation early and reserving room blocks where possible. This helps ensure your guests are well looked after and can relax and fully enjoy your wedding celebrations.

What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?

We've seen so many thoughtful personal touches over the years, but one that really stood out was a recent bride who hand-painted an individual favour for every single guest. It was an incredibly meaningful gesture that reflected the time, care and love that had gone into the day, and each guest left with a truly unique keepsake.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?

There are so many beautiful photo opportunities at Hengrave Hall that it's hard to choose just one. Some of our favourite locations include the picturesque lime tree avenue at the front of the Hall, the elegant West Terrace with the stunning gardens, and, for indoor photographs, the magnificent stained glass windows in the Banqueting Hall. Each setting offers a timeless backdrop, whatever the season.

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?

Yes! Hengrave Hall has welcomed some well-known faces over the years.

What’s your favourite canapé?

Our team love the confit duck taco, served with spring onion, cucumber and hoisin. It has also been a firm favourite with our couples this year, proving to be a particularly popular summer canapé.

What’s your favourite midnight treat?

There are so many tempting options to choose from for evening food that the Milsom team truly spoils us for choice. We particularly love the street food selection served in the courtyard, as well as the freshly made pizzas prepared in front of guests in our very own pizza ovens. Both always go down a treat.

What is your venue's most unique feature?

Steeped in rich history, Hengrave Hall has so many unique features for guests to discover. The beautiful stained glass windows in the Chapel, including original Flemish glass from 1538, are particularly special and full of character.

The Honeymoon Suite is also steeped in heritage, named in honour of Queen Elizabeth I, who stayed at Hengrave Hall during her visit to Suffolk in 1578. It’s these layers of history throughout the estate that make the venue so distinctive.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

We are incredibly proud of our team at Hengrave Hall, many of whom have been with us for many years. From our dedicated housekeepers and groundskeepers to our experienced venue executives, every member of the team plays a vital role in ensuring the Hall is kept in immaculate condition and that every wedding feels completely unique.
