Travel Notes

At the foot of the A3, Chichester Harbour is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Less than two hours from central London by train, and down the road from Southampton airport, access by road air couldn't be easier. Sat Nav or Google Maps are best used as we are hidden away from the rest of Hayling Island in our own little paradise - Use PO11 9SL. If all else fails follow the sign to the Sailing Club or the Lifeboat Station. See directions below: - By road: Hayling Island is on the south coast of Hampshire between Portsmouth and Chichester. Whatever direction you are coming from, head for the A27/M27 South Coast road. For visitors coming from the North, take the A34 and M3 to join the M27 or, from London and the East Coast, follow the A3 South to join the A27 Leave the A27 at the Havant/Hayling Island exit. Head south on the A3023 over Langstone bridge to a roundabout (approx. 3.25 miles). At the roundabout take the first exit left to Mengham / Eastoke (Church Road). Drive straight through Mengham village (Elm Grove) to the seafront (approx. 1 mile) At the T-junction on the seafront turn left and drive along the seafront for approx. 0.25 mile. The road curves to the left, then take the first right into Southwood Road (signed posted Lifeboat Station) drive down Southwood Road and then take the 4th left (Creek Road). Take the 2nd right onto Sandy Point Road and follow it all the way down taking the 5th left (Bracklesham Road) drive past the tennis courts and follow the road down to the HISC gate (Wittering Road will be on your left) go through the gate, over the small bridge and at the top turn left where you will come to the security barrier.
