Full Description
Aside from being the celebrated home of Cambridge Rowing, Ely Boathouse with its state-of-the -art building on the banks of the River Ouse provides a tranquil and picturesque setting for your wedding function. The venue offers both inside and outside space, allowing you to design a bespoke event in accordance with your own tastes and desires. The upstairs floor with wrap-around picture windows has access to a balcony overlooking the river with views of the iconic Ely cathedral, providing a perfect backdrop for photographs. The upper floor offers an airy and versatile space for formal seating or a more casual buffet set up and, of course, room for a DJ and a dance floor. The venue allows for up to 100 formally seated guests. For those searching for a more casual set up, the boat ‘hard” leading down to the river is perfect for drinks or for hired catering vans and can even accommodate a marquee. The beauty of the Boathouse as a venue is that it is a blank canvas, not only allowing your own colour scheme and decoration but you can tailor the whole reception to your own budget and requirements. Hire is for a one-off cost for the exclusive use of the Boathouse and you can arrange your own catering company (kitchen on site) and arrange your own bar and music. There is no corkage fee. This means that you can host a private and highly personalised celebration in a special and unique setting.

Please do get in touch. The beauty of our venue is the fact that it is a blank canvas to arrange the event as you like with your own catering and drink.
