Delbury Hall is one of the most magnificent wedding venues in rural Shropshire. A private family residence, home to the Wrigley family, its striking architecture, breathtaking grounds and contemporary facilities can be exclusively yours on your wedding day.
An imposing Georgian mansion, the main house sits amidst 80 acres of landscaped, south-facing gardens and parkland. Couples might choose to marry in the Main Hall with its galleried landing and views across the lake, wandering out on to the steps of the house for photographs, before enjoying drinks and canapés on the lawn.
Civil ceremonies can also take place in the Coach House, converted and renovated in 2007 and now entirely dedicated to wedding ceremonies and celebrations. This light and airy space features original beams, full height bi-fold doors and a neutral colour palette, with an elegant glass-balconied mezzanine - the chosen setting for many ceremonies.
In warmer months, experience all that the grounds have to offer, perhaps choosing to say ‘I do’ under the wedding Pagoda, reached along a pretty pathway and surrounded by a sweeping lawn with ample space to seat up to 150 guests. Adjacent to this is the glorious lake, home to a flock of Muscovy ducks and a possible setting for your welcome drinks. The grounds at Delbury are extensive and versatile – the setting for beautiful photographs, Champagne and perhaps some garden games in the sunshine.
Couples choosing a religious ceremony will find St Peter’s Church, Diddlebury situated just at the end of the garden. An amble along a short pathway to the side of the main house takes you straight to this stunning Saxo-Norman church, almost as if Delbury Hall had been purposely built as a venue for guests to celebrate following a wedding ceremony!
