Darlington Masonic Hall is a characterful and affordable wedding reception venue located in Darlington town centre. Our elegant Grand Hall provides a lovely setting for bringing your favourite people together to eat, drink, dance and celebrate your new marriage.
We specialise in wedding receptions, including traditional celebrations, and evening receptions. Whether you are planning a formal wedding breakfast or something a little more laid-back, our team will help you create a day that feels right for you.
Our wedding reception packages are designed to offer genuine value, with in-house catering and bar facilities making it easier to plan your celebration. Most importantly, we do not charge more simply because your wedding takes place on a weekend. Our weekend prices are the same, helping you choose the date that suits you without an additional weekend premium.
The Grand Hall can accommodate up to 100 guests seated at round tables or up to 120 guests for your evening reception. Our packages are available for celebrations with a minimum of 40 guests.
We understand that every couple has different priorities and that not everyone wants, or is able, to spend a huge amount on their wedding. Choosing an affordable venue does not mean your celebration should feel any less special. Our warm and welcoming team will work with you to make the most of your budget while still creating a memorable occasion for you and your guests.
The Hall has plenty of character, a spacious dance floor and a fully stocked bar, giving you everything you need for a wonderful celebration under one roof. You can also bring in your chosen suppliers and add your own styling and personal touches to make the space completely your own.

Do you hold wedding ceremonies at the Hall?
We currently specialise in wedding receptions rather than ceremonies. You can join us after your ceremony for your wedding breakfast, evening celebration or both.
Do you charge more for weekend weddings?
No. We don’t add a weekend premium, so our prices remain the same whether you celebrate with us during the week or at the weekend.
How many guests can you accommodate?

Are you suitable for couples working with a smaller budget?
Absolutely. We believe a lovely wedding shouldn’t require an enormous budget. Our packages offer genuine value, transparent pricing and plenty of flexibility, without making your celebration feel any less special.
Is catering provided by the venue?
Yes. Our experienced in-house chef and catering team prepare your food on site. We offer a choice of menus and will talk you through the available options when planning your reception.
Will someone help us plan our reception?
Yes. Lisa, our Wedding and Events Coordinator, will be there to answer your questions, discuss your ideas and support you throughout the planning process. Our Master of Ceremonies and experienced team will also help everything run smoothly on the day.
Can we choose our own wedding suppliers?
Yes. You’re welcome to bring in your chosen décor, entertainment, photographer and other wedding suppliers, allowing you to personalise the Hall and create a celebration that feels completely your own.
Can we arrange a private viewing?
Of course! We would love to welcome you for a private viewing, show you around the Hall and discuss your guest numbers, plans and budget. There’s no pressure and you’ll have plenty of opportunity to ask questions.
Is the venue accessible?
Yes. Our Grand Hall, bar and lounge are all located on the ground floor, making the venue easily accessible for guests.
Is there parking at the venue?
Our private car park has very limited spaces and is usually reserved for suppliers and the wedding car. Guests can park in the public car park directly opposite the Hall, which is payable during the day but free after 6pm.
