Perched on a stunning clifftop with breathtaking views of the Isle of Arran, the National Trust for Scotland's Culzean Castle is surrounded by a sprawling country park featuring charming follies, vibrant gardens, and sandy beaches. Located south of Ayr and just one hour from Glasgow, it offers a truly spectacular setting for weddings. Inside the castle, spiral staircases and beautifully appointed rooms enhance the sense of grandeur, providing a selection of distinctive spaces for intimate weddings of up to 50 guests. For larger celebrations, a marquee can be erected within the picturesque grounds, allowing couples to make the most of the estate’s stunning surroundings. The estate also boasts eight self-catering cottages, accommodating up to 30 guests and offering the perfect opportunity to extent the celebrations with family and friends.

She was warm and friendly from the very first meeting and made us all feel so at ease and looked after. She allowed us to make the most of the beautiful castle and grounds and even became our buggy driver to get us to each area. If you’re looking for a wonderful venue hosted by the most kind and attentive person and team.Not only is the venue and all its beautiful photo opportunities fabulous, the staff are truly wonderful and I cannot praise our coordinator Catriona highly enough. It was a truly wonderful day, in splendid surroundings loved by so many. I don't feel it's right to call Culzean a wedding venue. Rather, it's a beautiful and quirky venue at which you can hold your wedding. As a result, there are extra steps to consider when compared to a made-for-purpose venue such as a wedding barn or hotel. Catriona and the team and Culzean guide you through those steps, though, enabling you to create a unique day perfectly suited to you as a couple, and your family and guests. Guests' feedback about the venue, staff, ceremony, photography and food was so positive. We used several recommended suppliers, and some of our own. We love visiting the grounds of Culzean and know it well. We were able to have different parts of our day take place in different locations, and the NTS team provided a speedy golf buggy to enable us and our photographer to get wedding photos in our most favourite and beautiful spots. Bridal party preparations in the historic Eisenhower Suite felt so private and special, and the photographs are just beautiful. We were so pleased with our day - our only wish is that it didn't whizz by quite so quickly. We feel so fortunate to have been married at Culzean Castle. Describe the best wedding that happened at your venue?
This is a very hard one as I have quite a few but probably one destination wedding when everybody came from the States. The energy was amazing and everyone had such a memorable time. So much dancing, laughter and one of the best saxophonists I've heard. To see their enthusiasm and joy of being in such a grand castle and general appreciation of everything was very special.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't get too bogged down, trust in your planner as this should be fun, not stressful.
What’s your favourite personal touch you’ve seen at a wedding?
Many but I think just seeing the bride and grooms families and friends around them and sharing their day full of happiness is the best personal touch.

Where’s the best photo spot at your venue?
With out a doubt its the Viaduct with the castle in the background. The two beaches are also amazing, the vibrant walled garden and not forgetting the sunset picture on the viewing platform looking over to Arran and Ailsa Craig. The beauty of Culzean is there are too many to choose from!

Have you had any celebrity guest or wedding at your venue?
Lots and lots and Royalty too but we are very discreet. We have had a few famous television shows and films filmed here too.
What’s your favourite canapé?
As this is the west coast of Scotland anything seafood, its the best in the World!
What’s your favourite midnight treat?
Need something to soak up the champagne so would be either our Chefs fish tacos or an espresso martini to end the perfect day off
What is your venue's most unique feature?
A complete unique mix of clifftop, beautiful surroundings, beaches, gardens and an amazing castle to top it off.
What part of your business are you most proud of?
Our team and that we are National Trust so it is important to us to stick to our values.
